¹God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the earth.

KJVAnd God^H430 blessed^H1288^(H8762) Noah^H5146 and his sons^H1121, and said^H559^(H8799) unto them, Be fruitful^H6509^(H8798), and multiply^H7235^(H8798), and replenish^H4390^(H8798) the earth^H776.

² The fear of you and the dread of you will be on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the sky. Everything that moves along the ground, and all the fish of the sea, are delivered into your hand.

KJVAnd the fear of you^H4172 and the dread of you^H2844 shall be upon every beast^H2416 of the earth^H776, and upon every fowl^H5775 of the air^H8064, upon all that moveth^H7430^(H8799) upon the earth^H127, and upon all the fishes^H1709 of the sea^H3220; into your hand^H3027 are they delivered^H5414^(H8738).

³ Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. As I gave you the green herb, I have given everything to you.

KJVEvery moving thing^H7431 that liveth^H2416 shall be meat^H402 for you; even as the green^H3418 herb^H6212 have I given^H5414^(H8804) you all things.

⁴ But flesh with its life, that is, its blood, you shall not eat.

KJVBut^H389 flesh^H1320 with the life^H5315 thereof, which is the blood^H1818 thereof, shall ye not eat^H398^(H8799).

⁵ I will surely require accounting for your life’s blood. At the hand of every animal I will require it. At the hand of man, even at the hand of every man’s brother, I will require the life of man.

KJVAnd surely^H389 your blood^H1818 of your lives^H5315 will I require^H1875^(H8799); at the hand^H3027 of every beast^H2416 will I require it^H1875^(H8799), and at the hand^H3027 of man^H120; at the hand^H3027 of every man's^H376 brother^H251 will I require^H1875^(H8799) the life^H5315 of man^H120.

⁶ Whoever sheds man’s blood, his blood will be shed by man, for God made man in his own image.

⁷ Be fruitful and multiply. Increase abundantly on the earth, and multiply in it.”

KJVAnd you, be ye fruitful^H6509^(H8798), and multiply^H7235^(H8798); bring forth abundantly^H8317^(H8798) in the earth^H776, and multiply^H7235^(H8798) therein.

⁸ God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying,

KJVAnd God^H430 spake^H559^(H8799) unto Noah^H5146, and to his sons^H1121 with him, saying^H559^(H8800),

⁹ “As for me, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring after you,

KJVAnd I, behold, I establish^H6965^(H8688) my covenant^H1285 with you, and with your seed^H2233 after you^H310;

¹⁰ and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the livestock, and every animal of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ship, even every animal of the earth.

KJVAnd with every living^H2416 creature^H5315 that is with you, of the fowl^H5775, of the cattle^H929, and of every beast^H2416 of the earth^H776 with you; from all that go out^H3318^(H8802) of the ark^H8392, to every beast^H2416 of the earth^H776.

¹¹ I will establish my covenant with you: All flesh will not be cut off any more by the waters of the flood. There will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.”

KJVAnd I will establish^H6965^(H8689) my covenant^H1285 with you; neither shall all flesh^H1320 be cut off^H3772^(H8735) any more by the waters^H4325 of a flood^H3999; neither shall there any more be a flood^H3999 to destroy^H7843^(H8763) the earth^H776.

¹² God said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

KJVAnd God^H430 said^H559^(H8799), This is the token^H226 of the covenant^H1285 which I^H589 make^H5414^(H8802) between me and you and every living^H2416 creature^H5315 that is with you, for perpetual^H5769 generations^H1755:

¹³ I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.

KJVI do set^H5414^(H8804) my bow^H7198 in the cloud^H6051, and it shall be for a token^H226 of a covenant^H1285 between me and the earth^H776.

¹⁴ When I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud,

KJVAnd it shall come to pass, when I bring^H6049^(H8763) a cloud^H6051 over the earth^H776, that the bow^H7198 shall be seen^H7200^(H8738) in the cloud^H6051:

¹⁵ I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh, and the waters will no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

KJVAnd I will remember^H2142^(H8804) my covenant^H1285, which is between me and you and every living^H2416 creature^H5315 of all flesh^H1320; and the waters^H4325 shall no more^H5750 become a flood^H3999 to destroy^H7843^(H8763) all flesh^H1320.

¹⁶ The rainbow will be in the cloud. I will look at it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

KJVAnd the bow^H7198 shall be in the cloud^H6051; and I will look upon it^H7200^(H8804), that I may remember^H2142^(H8800) the everlasting^H5769 covenant^H1285 between^H996 God^H430 and^H996 every living^H2416 creature^H5315 of all flesh^H1320 that is upon the earth^H776.

¹⁷ God said to Noah, “This is the token of the covenant which I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

KJVAnd God^H430 said^H559^(H8799) unto Noah^H5146, This is the token^H226 of the covenant^H1285, which I have established^H6965^(H8689) between me and all flesh^H1320 that is upon the earth^H776.

¹⁸ The sons of Noah who went out from the ship were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham is the father of Canaan.

KJVAnd the sons^H1121 of Noah^H5146, that went forth^H3318^(H8802) of the ark^H8392, were Shem^H8035, and Ham^H2526, and Japheth^H3315: and Ham^H2526^H1931 is the father^H1 of Canaan^H3667.

¹⁹ These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.

KJVThese are the three^H7969 sons^H1121 of Noah^H5146: and of them was the whole earth^H776 overspread^H5310^(H8804).

²⁰ Noah began to be a farmer, and planted a vineyard.

KJVAnd Noah^H5146 began^H2490^(H8686) to be an husbandman^H376^H127, and he planted^H5193^(H8799) a vineyard^H3754:

²¹ He drank of the wine and got drunk. He was uncovered within his tent.

KJVAnd he drank^H8354^(H8799) of the wine^H3196, and was drunken^H7937^(H8799); and he was uncovered^H1540^(H8691) within^H8432 his tent^H168.

²² Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.

KJVAnd Ham^H2526, the father^H1 of Canaan^H3667, saw^H7200^(H8799) the nakedness^H6172 of his father^H1, and told^H5046^(H8686) his two^H8147 brethren^H251 without^H2351.

²³ Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, went in backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were backwards, and they didn’t see their father’s nakedness.

KJVAnd Shem^H8035 and Japheth^H3315 took^H3947^(H8799) a garment^H8071, and laid^H7760^(H8799) it upon both^H8147 their shoulders^H7926, and went^H3212^(H8799) backward^H322, and covered^H3680^(H8762) the nakedness^H6172 of their father^H1; and their faces^H6440 were backward^H322, and they saw^H7200^(H8804) not their father's^H1 nakedness^H6172.

²⁴ Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done to him.

KJVAnd Noah^H5146 awoke^H3364^(H8799) from his wine^H3196, and knew^H3045^(H8799) what his younger^H6996 son^H1121 had done^H6213^(H8804) unto him.

²⁵ He said, “Canaan is cursed. He will be a servant of servants to his brothers.”

KJVAnd he said^H559^(H8799), Cursed^H779^(H8803) be Canaan^H3667; a servant^H5650 of servants^H5650 shall he be unto his brethren^H251.

²⁶ He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.

KJVAnd he said^H559^(H8799), Blessed^H1288^(H8803) be the LORD^H3068 God^H430 of Shem^H8035; and Canaan^H3667 shall be^H1961^(H8799) his servant^H5650.

²⁷ May God enlarge Japheth. Let him dwell in the tents of Shem. Let Canaan be his servant.”

KJVGod^H430 shall enlarge^H6601^(H8686) Japheth^H3315, and he shall dwell^H7931^(H8799) in the tents^H168 of Shem^H8035; and Canaan^H3667 shall be his servant^H5650.

²⁸ Noah lived three hundred fifty years after the flood.

KJVAnd Noah^H5146 lived^H2421^(H8799) after^H310 the flood^H3999 three^H7969 hundred^H3967^H8141 and fifty^H2572 years^H8141.

²⁹ All the days of Noah were nine hundred fifty years, and then he died.

KJVAnd all the days^H3117 of Noah^H5146 were nine^H8672 hundred^H3967^H8141 and fifty^H2572 years^H8141: and he died^H4191^(H8799).

¹God remembered Noah, all the animals, and all the livestock that were with him in the ship; and God made a wind to pass over the earth. The waters subsided.

² The deep’s fountains and the sky’s windows were also stopped, and the rain from the sky was restrained.

³ The waters continually receded from the earth. After the end of one hundred fifty days the waters receded.

KJVAnd the waters^H4325 returned^H7725^(H8799) from off the earth^H776 continually^H1980^(H8800)^H7725^(H8800): and after the end^H7097 of the hundred^H3967 and fifty^H2572 days^H3117 the waters^H4325 were abated^H2637^(H8799).

⁴ The ship rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on Ararat’s mountains.

KJVAnd the ark^H8392 rested^H5117^(H8799) in the seventh^H7637 month^H2320, on the seventeenth^H6240^H7651 day^H3117 of the month^H2320, upon the mountains^H2022 of Ararat^H780.

⁵ The waters receded continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were visible.

KJVAnd the waters^H4325 decreased^H2637^(H8800) continually^H1980^(H8800) until^H5704 the tenth^H6224 month^H2320: in the tenth^H6224 month, on the first^H259 day of the month^H2320, were the tops^H7218 of the mountains^H2022 seen^H7200^(H8738).

⁶ At the end of forty days, Noah opened the window of the ship which he had made,

KJVAnd it came to pass at the end^H7093 of forty^H705 days^H3117, that Noah^H5146 opened^H6605^(H8799) the window^H2474 of the ark^H8392 which he had made^H6213^(H8804):

⁷ and he sent out a raven. It went back and forth, until the waters were dried up from the earth.

KJVAnd he sent forth^H7971^(H8762) a raven^H6158, which went forth^H3318^(H8799) to^H3318^(H8800) and fro^H7725^(H8800), until the waters^H4325 were dried up^H3001^(H8800) from off the earth^H776.

⁸ He himself sent out a dove to see if the waters were abated from the surface of the ground,

KJVAlso he sent forth^H7971^(H8762) a dove^H3123 from him, to see^H7200^(H8800) if the waters^H4325 were abated^H7043^(H8804) from off the face^H6440 of the ground^H127;

⁹ but the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned into the ship to him, for the waters were on the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand, and took her, and brought her to him into the ship.

¹⁰ He waited yet another seven days; and again he sent the dove out of the ship.

¹¹ The dove came back to him at evening and, behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters were abated from the earth.

KJVAnd the dove^H3123 came in^H935^(H8799) to him in the evening^H6256^H6153; and, lo, in her mouth^H6310 was an olive^H2132 leaf^H5929 pluckt off^H2965: so Noah^H5146 knew^H3045^(H8799) that the waters^H4325 were abated^H7043^(H8804) from off the earth^H776.

¹² He waited yet another seven days, and sent out the dove; and she didn’t return to him any more.

KJVAnd he stayed^H3176^(H8735) yet other^H312 seven^H7651 days^H3117; and sent forth^H7971^(H8762) the dove^H3123; which returned^H7725^(H8800) not again^H3254^(H8804) unto him any more^H5750.

¹³ In the six hundred first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth. Noah removed the covering of the ship, and looked. He saw that the surface of the ground was dry.

KJVAnd it came to pass in the six^H8337 hundredth^H3967 and first year^H8141, in the first^H7223 month, the first^H259 day of the month^H2320, the waters^H4325 were dried up^H2717^(H8804) from off the earth^H776: and Noah^H5146 removed^H5493^(H8686) the covering^H4372 of the ark^H8392, and looked^H7200^(H8799), and, behold, the face^H6440 of the ground^H127 was dry^H2717^(H8804).

¹⁴ In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.

KJVAnd in the second^H8145 month^H2320, on the seven^H7651 and twentieth^H6242 day^H3117 of the month^H2320, was the earth^H776 dried^H3001^(H8804).

¹⁵ God spoke to Noah, saying,

KJVAnd God^H430 spake^H1696^(H8762) unto Noah^H5146, saying^H559^(H8800),

¹⁶ “Go out of the ship, you, your wife, your sons, and your sons’ wives with you.

KJVGo forth^H3318^(H8798) of the ark^H8392, thou, and thy wife^H802, and thy sons^H1121, and thy sons^H1121' wives^H802 with thee.

¹⁷ Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh, including birds, livestock, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply on the earth.”

¹⁸ Noah went out, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives with him.

¹⁹ Every animal, every creeping thing, and every bird, whatever moves on the earth, after their families, went out of the ship.

²⁰ Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

²¹ Yahweh smelled the pleasant aroma. Yahweh said in his heart, “I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. I will never again strike every living thing, as I have done.

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 smelled^H7306^(H8686) a sweet^H5207 savour^H7381; and the LORD^H3068 said^H559^(H8799) in^H413 his heart^H3820, I will not again^H3254^(H8686) curse^H7043^(H8763) the ground^H127 any more for man's^H120 sake^H5668; for the imagination^H3336 of man's^H120 heart^H3820 is evil^H7451 from his youth^H5271; neither will I again^H3254^(H8686) smite^H5221^(H8687) any more every thing living^H2416, as I have done^H6213^(H8804).

²² While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”
