WEB·2 Kings 21
1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.
KJVManassehH4519 was twelveH8147H6240 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427(H8800), and reignedH4427(H8804) fiftyH2572 and fiveH2568 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And his mother'sH517 nameH8034 was HephzibahH2657.
2 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.
KJVAnd he didH6213(H8799) that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, after the abominationsH8441 of the heathenH1471, whom the LORDH3068 cast outH3423(H8689) beforeH6440 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478.
3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he raised up altars for Baal, and made an Asherah, as Ahab king of Israel did, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.
KJVFor he built upH1129(H8799) againH7725(H8799) the high placesH1116 which HezekiahH2396 his fatherH1 had destroyedH6(H8765); and he reared upH6965(H8686) altarsH4196 for BaalH1168, and madeH6213(H8799) a groveH842, as didH6213(H8804) AhabH256 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478; and worshippedH7812(H8691) all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, and servedH5647(H8799) them.
4 He built altars in Yahweh’s house, of which Yahweh said, “I will put my name in Jerusalem.”
KJVAnd he builtH1129(H8804) altarsH4196 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, of which the LORDH3068 saidH559(H8804), In JerusalemH3389 will I putH7760(H8799) my nameH8034.
5 He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of Yahweh’s house.
KJVAnd he builtH1129(H8799) altarsH4196 for all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 in the twoH8147 courtsH2691 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068.
6 He made his son to pass through the fire, practiced sorcery, used enchantments, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits and with wizards. He did much evil in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger.
KJVAnd he made his sonH1121 passH5674(H8689) through the fireH784, and observed timesH6049(H8782), and used enchantmentsH5172(H8765), and dealtH6213(H8804) with familiar spiritsH178 and wizardsH3049: he wroughtH6213(H8800) muchH7235(H8689) wickednessH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, to provoke him to angerH3707(H8687).
7 He set the engraved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which Yahweh said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever;
KJVAnd he setH7760(H8799) a graven imageH6459 of the groveH842 that he had madeH6213(H8804) in the houseH1004, of which the LORDH3068 saidH559(H8804) to DavidH1732, and to SolomonH8010 his sonH1121, In this houseH1004, and in JerusalemH3389, which I have chosenH977(H8804) out of all tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478, will I putH7760(H8799) my nameH8034 for everH5769:
8 I will not cause the feet of Israel to wander any more out of the land which I gave their fathers, if only they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them.”
KJVNeither will I make the feetH7272 of IsraelH3478 moveH5110(H8687) any moreH3254(H8686) out of the landH127 which I gaveH5414(H8804) their fathersH1; only if they will observeH8104(H8799) to doH6213(H8800) according to all that I have commandedH6680(H8765) them, and according to all the lawH8451 that my servantH5650 MosesH4872 commandedH6680(H8765) them.
9 But they didn’t listen, and Manasseh seduced them to do that which is evil more than the nations did whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel.
KJVBut they hearkenedH8085(H8804) not: and ManassehH4519 seducedH8582(H8686) them to doH6213(H8800) more evilH7451 than did the nationsH1471 whom the LORDH3068 destroyedH8045(H8689) beforeH6440 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478.
10 Yahweh spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,
KJVAnd the LORDH3068 spakeH1696(H8762) byH3027 his servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, sayingH559(H8800),
11 “Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations, and has done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, who were before him, and has also made Judah to sin with his idols;
KJVBecause ManassehH4519 kingH4428 of JudahH3063 hath doneH6213(H8804) these abominationsH8441, and hath done wickedlyH7489(H8689) above all that the AmoritesH567 didH6213(H8804), which were beforeH6440 him, and hath made JudahH3063 also to sinH2398(H8686) with his idolsH1544:
12 therefore Yahweh the God of Israel says, ‘Behold, I will bring such evil on Jerusalem and Judah that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.
KJVTherefore thus saithH559(H8804) the LORDH3068 GodH430 of IsraelH3478, Behold, I am bringingH935(H8688) such evilH7451 upon JerusalemH3389 and JudahH3063, that whosoever hearethH8085(H8802) of it, bothH8147 his earsH241 shall tingleH6750(H8799).
13 I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plumb line of Ahab’s house; and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down.
KJVAnd I will stretchH5186(H8804) over JerusalemH3389 the lineH6957 of SamariaH8111, and the plummetH4949 of the houseH1004 of AhabH256: and I will wipeH4229(H8804) JerusalemH3389 as a man wipethH4229(H8799) a dishH6747, wipingH4229(H8804) it, and turningH2015(H8804) it upside downH6440.
14 I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance and deliver them into the hands of their enemies. They will become a prey and a plunder to all their enemies,
KJVAnd I will forsakeH5203(H8804) the remnantH7611 of mine inheritanceH5159, and deliverH5414(H8804) them into the handH3027 of their enemiesH341(H8802); and they shall become a preyH957 and a spoilH4933 to all their enemiesH341(H8802);
15 because they have done that which is evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger since the day their fathers came out of Egypt, even to this day.’”
KJVBecause they have doneH6213(H8804) that which was evilH7451 in my sightH5869, and have provokedH4480 me to angerH3707(H8688), since the dayH3117 their fathersH1 came forthH3318(H8804) out of EgyptH4714, even unto this dayH3117.
16 Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; in addition to his sin with which he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight.
KJVMoreover ManassehH4519 shedH8210(H8804) innocentH5355 bloodH1818 veryH3966 muchH7235(H8687), till he had filledH4390(H8765) JerusalemH3389 from one endH6310 to anotherH6310; beside his sinH2403 wherewith he made JudahH3063 to sinH2398(H8689), in doingH6213(H8800) that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068.
17 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
KJVNow the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of ManassehH4519, and all that he didH6213(H8804), and his sinH2403 that he sinnedH2398(H8804), are they not writtenH3789(H8803) in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697H3117 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063?
18 Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza; and Amon his son reigned in his place.
KJVAnd ManassehH4519 sleptH7901(H8799) with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912(H8735) in the gardenH1588 of his own houseH1004, in the gardenH1588 of UzzaH5798: and AmonH526 his sonH1121 reignedH4427(H8799) in his stead.
19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
KJVAmonH526 was twentyH6242 and twoH8147 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427(H8800), and he reignedH4427(H8804) twoH8147 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389. And his mother'sH517 nameH8034 was MeshullemethH4922, the daughterH1323 of HaruzH2743 of JotbahH3192.
20 He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as Manasseh his father did.
KJVAnd he didH6213(H8799) that which was evilH7451 in the sightH5869 of the LORDH3068, as his fatherH1 ManassehH4519 didH6213(H8804).
21 He walked in all the ways that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshiped them;
KJVAnd he walkedH3212(H8799) in all the wayH1870 that his fatherH1 walked inH1980(H8804), and servedH5647(H8799) the idolsH1544 that his fatherH1 servedH5647(H8804), and worshippedH7812(H8691) them:
22 and he abandoned Yahweh, the God of his fathers, and didn’t walk in the way of Yahweh.
KJVAnd he forsookH5800(H8799) the LORDH3068 GodH430 of his fathersH1, and walkedH1980(H8804) not in the wayH1870 of the LORDH3068.
23 The servants of Amon conspired against him, and put the king to death in his own house.
KJVAnd the servantsH5650 of AmonH526 conspiredH7194(H8799) against him, and slewH4191(H8686) the kingH4428 in his own houseH1004.
24 But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.
KJVAnd the peopleH5971 of the landH776 slewH5221(H8686) all them that had conspiredH7194(H8802) against kingH4428 AmonH526; and the peopleH5971 of the landH776 made JosiahH2977 his sonH1121 kingH4427(H8686) in his stead.
25 Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
KJVNow the restH3499 of the actsH1697 of AmonH526 which he didH6213(H8804), are they not writtenH3789(H8803) in the bookH5612 of the chroniclesH1697H3117 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063?
26 He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza, and Josiah his son reigned in his place.
KJVAnd he was buriedH6912(H8799) in his sepulchreH6900 in the gardenH1588 of UzzaH5798: and JosiahH2977 his sonH1121 reignedH4427(H8799) in his stead.
