¹A Song of Ascents. By David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let’s go to Yahweh’s house!”

² Our feet are standing within your gates, Jerusalem!

³ Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together,

⁴ where the tribes go up, even Yah’s tribes, according to an ordinance for Israel, to give thanks to Yahweh’s name.

⁵ For there are set thrones for judgment, the thrones of David’s house.

⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those who love you will prosper.

⁷ Peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.

⁸ For my brothers’ and companions’ sakes, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”

⁹ For the sake of the house of Yahweh our God, I will seek your good.

¹A Song of Ascents. I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from?

KJVA Song^H7892 of degrees^H4609. I will lift up^H5375^(H8799) mine eyes^H5869 unto the hills^H2022, from whence^H370 cometh^H935^(H8799) my help^H5828.

² My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.

KJVMy help^H5828 cometh from the LORD^H3068, which made^H6213^(H8802) heaven^H8064 and earth^H776.

³ He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber.

KJVHe will not suffer^H5414^(H8799) thy foot^H7272 to be moved^H4132: he that keepeth^H8104^(H8802) thee will not slumber^H5123^(H8799).

⁴ Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

KJVBehold, he that keepeth^H8104^(H8802) Israel^H3478 shall neither slumber^H5123^(H8799) nor sleep^H3462^(H8799).

⁵ Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand.

KJVThe LORD^H3068 is thy keeper^H8104^(H8802): the LORD^H3068 is thy shade^H6738 upon thy right^H3225 hand^H3027.

⁶ The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

KJVThe sun^H8121 shall not smite^H5221^(H8686) thee by day^H3119, nor the moon^H3394 by night^H3915.

⁷ Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul.

KJVThe LORD^H3068 shall preserve^H8104^(H8799) thee from all evil^H7451: he shall preserve^H8104^(H8799) thy soul^H5315.

⁸ Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more.

KJVThe LORD^H3068 shall preserve^H8104^(H8799) thy going out^H3318^(H8800) and thy coming in^H935^(H8800) from this time forth, and even for^H5704 evermore^H5769.
