¹A Song of Ascents. Those who trust in Yahweh are as Mount Zion, which can’t be moved, but remains forever.

KJVA Song^H7892 of degrees^H4609. They that trust^H982^(H8802) in the LORD^H3068 shall be as mount^H2022 Zion^H6726, which cannot be removed^H4131^(H8735), but abideth^H3427^(H8799) for ever^H5769.

² As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so Yahweh surrounds his people from this time forward and forever more.

KJVAs the mountains^H2022 are round about^H5439 Jerusalem^H3389, so the LORD^H3068 is round about^H5439 his people^H5971 from henceforth even for^H5704 ever^H5769.

³ For the scepter of wickedness won’t remain over the allotment of the righteous, so that the righteous won’t use their hands to do evil.

⁴ Do good, Yahweh, to those who are good, to those who are upright in their hearts.

⁵ But as for those who turn away to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be on Israel.

² if it had not been Yahweh who was on our side, when men rose up against us,

³ then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,

⁴ then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul.

⁵ Then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

⁶ Blessed be Yahweh, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

⁷ Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

KJVOur soul^H5315 is escaped^H4422^(H8738) as a bird^H6833 out of the snare^H6341 of the fowlers^H3369^(H8802): the snare^H6341 is broken^H7665^(H8738), and we are escaped^H4422^(H8738).

⁸ Our help is in Yahweh’s name, who made heaven and earth.
