¹Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Go in to Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

² For if you refuse to let them go, and hold them still,

KJVFor if thou refuse^H3986 to let them go^H7971^(H8763), and wilt hold^H2388^(H8688) them still,

³ behold, Yahweh’s hand is on your livestock which are in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the herds, and on the flocks with a very grievous pestilence.

KJVBehold, the hand^H3027 of the LORD^H3068 is^H1961^(H8802) upon thy cattle^H4735 which is in the field^H7704, upon the horses^H5483, upon the asses^H2543, upon the camels^H1581, upon the oxen^H1241, and upon the sheep^H6629: there shall be a very^H3966 grievous^H3515 murrain^H1698.

⁴ Yahweh will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt; and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel.”’”

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 shall sever^H6395^(H8689) between the cattle^H4735 of Israel^H3478 and the cattle^H4735 of Egypt^H4714: and there shall nothing^H1697 die^H4191^(H8799) of all that is the children's^H1121 of Israel^H3478.

⁵ Yahweh appointed a set time, saying, “Tomorrow Yahweh shall do this thing in the land.”

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 appointed^H7760^(H8799) a set time^H4150, saying^H559^(H8800), To morrow^H4279 the LORD^H3068 shall do^H6213^(H8799) this thing^H1697 in the land^H776.

⁶ Yahweh did that thing on the next day; and all the livestock of Egypt died, but of the livestock of the children of Israel, not one died.

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 did^H6213^(H8799) that thing^H1697 on the morrow^H4283, and all the cattle^H4735 of Egypt^H4714 died^H4191^(H8799): but of the cattle^H4735 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 died^H4191^(H8804) not one^H259.

⁷ Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not so much as one of the livestock of the Israelites dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was stubborn, and he didn’t let the people go.

⁸ Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron, “Take handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the sky in the sight of Pharaoh.

⁹ It shall become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and shall be boils and blisters breaking out on man and on animal, throughout all the land of Egypt.”

¹⁰ They took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward the sky; and it became boils and blisters breaking out on man and on animal.

¹¹ The magicians couldn’t stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boils were on the magicians and on all the Egyptians.

¹² Yahweh hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken to Moses.

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 hardened^H2388^(H8762) the heart^H3820 of Pharaoh^H6547, and he hearkened^H8085^(H8804) not unto them; as the LORD^H3068 had spoken^H1696^(H8765) unto Moses^H4872.

¹³ Yahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says: “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

¹⁴ For this time I will send all my plagues against your heart, against your officials, and against your people; that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.

KJVFor I will at this time^H6471 send^H7971^(H8802) all my plagues^H4046 upon thine heart^H3820, and upon thy servants^H5650, and upon thy people^H5971; that thou mayest know^H3045^(H8799) that there is none like me in all the earth^H776.

¹⁵ For now I would have stretched out my hand, and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth;

KJVFor now I will stretch out^H7971^(H8804) my hand^H3027, that I may smite^H5221^(H8686) thee and thy people^H5971 with pestilence^H1698; and thou shalt be cut off^H3582^(H8735) from the earth^H776.

¹⁶ but indeed for this cause I have made you stand: to show you my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth,

KJVAnd in very^H199 deed^H5668 for this cause have I raised thee up^H5975^(H8689), for to shew^H7200^(H8687) in thee my power^H3581; and that my name^H8034 may be declared^H5608^(H8763) throughout all the earth^H776.

¹⁷ because you still exalt yourself against my people, that you won’t let them go.

KJVAs yet exaltest^H5549^(H8706) thou thyself against my people^H5971, that thou wilt not let them go^H7971^(H8763)?

¹⁸ Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Egypt since the day it was founded even until now.

KJVBehold, to morrow^H4279 about this time^H6256 I will cause it to rain^H4305^(H8688) a very^H3966 grievous^H3515 hail^H1259, such as hath not been^H3644 in Egypt^H4714 since^H4480 the foundation^H3117^H3245^(H8736) thereof even until now.

¹⁹ Now therefore command that all of your livestock and all that you have in the field be brought into shelter. The hail will come down on every man and animal that is found in the field, and isn’t brought home, and they will die.”’”

²⁰ Those who feared Yahweh’s word among the servants of Pharaoh made their servants and their livestock flee into the houses.

KJVHe that feared^H3373 the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 among the servants^H5650 of Pharaoh^H6547 made his servants^H5650 and his cattle^H4735 flee^H5127^(H8689) into the houses^H1004:

²¹ Whoever didn’t respect Yahweh’s word left his servants and his livestock in the field.

KJVAnd he that regarded^H7760^(H8804)^H3820 not the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 left^H5800^(H8799) his servants^H5650 and his cattle^H4735 in the field^H7704.

²² Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on animal, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.”

²³ Moses stretched out his rod toward the heavens, and Yahweh sent thunder and hail; and lightning flashed down to the earth. Yahweh rained hail on the land of Egypt.

²⁴ So there was very severe hail, and lightning mixed with the hail, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

KJVSo there was hail^H1259, and fire^H784^H3947^(H8693) mingled^H8432 with the hail^H1259, very^H3966 grievous^H3515, such as there was none^H3808 like it in all the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714 since it became a nation^H1471.

²⁵ The hail struck throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and animal; and the hail struck every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field.

KJVAnd the hail^H1259 smote^H5221^(H8686) throughout all the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714 all that was in the field^H7704, both man^H120 and beast^H929; and the hail^H1259 smote^H5221^(H8689) every herb^H6212 of the field^H7704, and brake^H7665^(H8765) every tree^H6086 of the field^H7704.

²⁶ Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.

KJVOnly in the land^H776 of Goshen^H1657, where the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 were, was there no hail^H1259.

²⁷ Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, “I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

KJVAnd Pharaoh^H6547 sent^H7971^(H8799), and called^H7121^(H8799) for Moses^H4872 and Aaron^H175, and said^H559^(H8799) unto them, I have sinned^H2398^(H8804) this time^H6471: the LORD^H3068 is righteous^H6662, and I and my people^H5971 are wicked^H7563.

²⁸ Pray to Yahweh; for there has been enough of mighty thunderings and hail. I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer.”

KJVIntreat^H6279^(H8685) the LORD^H3068(for it is enough^H7227) that there be no more mighty^H430 thunderings^H6963 and hail^H1259; and I will let you go^H7971^(H8762), and ye shall stay^H5975^(H8800) no longer^H3254^(H8686).

²⁹ Moses said to him, “As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to Yahweh. The thunders shall cease, and there will not be any more hail; that you may know that the earth is Yahweh’s.

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 said^H559^(H8799) unto him, As soon as I am gone out^H3318^(H8800) of the city^H5892, I will spread abroad^H6566^(H8799) my hands^H3709 unto the LORD^H3068; and the thunder^H6963 shall cease^H2308^(H8799), neither shall there be any more hail^H1259; that thou mayest know^H3045^(H8799) how that the earth^H776 is the LORD'S^H3068.

³⁰ But as for you and your servants, I know that you don’t yet fear Yahweh God.”

KJVBut as for thee and thy servants^H5650, I know^H3045^(H8804) that ye will not yet fear^H3372^(H8799)^H6440 the LORD^H3068 God^H430.

³¹ The flax and the barley were struck, for the barley had ripened and the flax was blooming.

KJVAnd the flax^H6594 and the barley^H8184 was smitten^H5221^(H8795): for the barley^H8184 was in the ear^H24, and the flax^H6594 was bolled^H1392.

³² But the wheat and the spelt were not struck, for they had not grown up.

KJVBut the wheat^H2406 and the rie^H3698 were not smitten^H5221^(H8795): for they^H2007 were not grown up^H648.

³³ Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread out his hands to Yahweh; and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 went out^H3318^(H8799) of the city^H5892 from Pharaoh^H6547, and spread abroad^H6566^(H8799) his hands^H3709 unto the LORD^H3068: and the thunders^H6963 and hail^H1259 ceased^H2308^(H8799), and the rain^H4306 was not poured^H5413^(H8738) upon the earth^H776.

³⁴ When Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders had ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

³⁵ The heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he didn’t let the children of Israel go, just as Yahweh had spoken through Moses.

³ The river will swarm with frogs, which will go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs.

⁵ Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.’”

⁶ Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.

⁷ The magicians did the same thing with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Egypt.

⁸ Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Entreat Yahweh, that he take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to Yahweh.”

⁹ Moses said to Pharaoh, “I give you the honor of setting the time that I should pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only.”

¹⁰ Pharaoh said, “Tomorrow.” Moses said, “Let it be according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like Yahweh our God.

KJVAnd he said^H559^(H8799), To morrow^H4279. And he said^H559^(H8799), Be it according to thy word^H1697: that thou mayest know^H3045^(H8799) that there is none like unto the LORD^H3068 our God^H430.

¹¹ The frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only.”

KJVAnd the frogs^H6854 shall depart^H5493^(H8804) from thee, and from thy houses^H1004, and from thy servants^H5650, and from thy people^H5971; they shall remain^H7604^(H8735) in the river^H2975 only.

¹² Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to Yahweh concerning the frogs which he had brought on Pharaoh.

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 and Aaron^H175 went out^H3318^(H8799) from Pharaoh^H6547: and Moses^H4872 cried^H6817^(H8799) unto the LORD^H3068 because of^H1697 the frogs^H6854 which he had brought^H7760^(H8804) against Pharaoh^H6547.

¹³ Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

¹⁴ They gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

¹⁵ But when Pharaoh saw that there was a respite, he hardened his heart, and didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

¹⁶ Yahweh said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.’”

¹⁷ They did so; and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on animal; all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

¹⁸ The magicians tried with their enchantments to produce lice, but they couldn’t. There were lice on man, and on animal.

¹⁹ Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is God’s finger;” but Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he didn’t listen to them, as Yahweh had spoken.

²⁰ Yahweh said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; behold, he comes out to the water; and tell him, ‘This is what Yahweh says, “Let my people go, that they may serve me.

²¹ Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground they are on.

KJVElse, if thou wilt not let my people^H5971 go^H7971^(H8764), behold, I will send^H7971^(H8688) swarms^H6157 of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants^H5650, and upon thy people^H5971, and into thy houses^H1004: and the houses^H1004 of the Egyptians^H4714 shall be full^H4390^(H8804) of swarms^H6157 of flies, and also the ground^H127 whereon they are.

²² I will set apart in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, to the end you may know that I am Yahweh on the earth.

KJVAnd I will sever^H6395^(H8689) in that day^H3117 the land^H776 of Goshen^H1657, in which my people^H5971 dwell^H5975^(H8802), that no^H1115 swarms^H6157 of flies shall be^H1961^(H8800) there; to the end^H4616 thou mayest know^H3045^(H8799) that I am the LORD^H3068 in the midst^H7130 of the earth^H776.

²³ I will put a division between my people and your people. This sign shall happen by tomorrow.”’”

²⁴ Yahweh did so; and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants’ houses. In all the land of Egypt the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.

²⁵ Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land!”

³⁰ Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed to Yahweh.

³¹ Yahweh did according to the word of Moses, and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.
