Isaiah 20

WEB·Isaiah 20
1In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and took it;
KJVIn the yearH8141 that TartanH8661 cameH935(H8800) unto AshdodH795,(when SargonH5623 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 sentH7971(H8800) him,) and foughtH3898(H8735) against AshdodH795, and tookH3920(H8799) it;
2 at that time Yahweh spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and loosen the sackcloth from off your waist, and take your sandals from off your feet.” He did so, walking naked and barefoot.
KJVAt the same timeH6256 spakeH1696(H8765) the LORDH3068 byH3027 IsaiahH3470 the sonH1121 of AmozH531, sayingH559(H8800), GoH3212(H8798) and looseH6605(H8765) the sackclothH8242 from off thy loinsH4975, and put offH2502(H8799) thy shoeH5275 from thy footH7272. And he did soH6213(H8799), walkingH1980(H8800) nakedH6174 and barefootH3182.
3 Yahweh said, “As my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and a wonder concerning Egypt and concerning Ethiopia,
KJVAnd the LORDH3068 saidH559(H8799), Like as my servantH5650 IsaiahH3470 hath walkedH1980(H8804) nakedH6174 and barefootH3182 threeH7969 yearsH8141 for a signH226 and wonderH4159 upon EgyptH4714 and upon EthiopiaH3568;
4 so the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Ethiopia, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.
KJVSo shall the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804 lead awayH5090(H8799) the EgyptiansH4714 prisonersH7628, and the EthiopiansH3568 captivesH1546, youngH5288 and oldH2205, nakedH6174 and barefootH3182, even with their buttocksH8357 uncoveredH2834(H8803), to the shameH6172 of EgyptH4714.
5 They will be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.
KJVAnd they shall be afraidH2865(H8804) and ashamedH954(H8804) of EthiopiaH3568 their expectationH4007, and of EgyptH4714 their gloryH8597.
6 The inhabitants of this coast land will say in that day, ‘Behold, this is our expectation, where we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria. And we, how will we escape?’”
KJVAnd the inhabitantH3427(H8802) of this isleH339 shall sayH559(H8804) in that dayH3117, Behold, suchH3541 is our expectationH4007, whither we fleeH5127(H8804) for helpH5833 to be deliveredH5337(H8736) fromH6440 the kingH4428 of AssyriaH804: and how shall we escapeH4422(H8735)?
