¹Yahweh’s word also came to me, saying,

² “Son of man, you dwell in the middle of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see, and don’t see, who have ears to hear, and don’t hear; for they are a rebellious house.

³ “Therefore, you son of man, prepare your baggage for moving, and move by day in their sight. You shall move from your place to another place in their sight. It may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house.

KJVTherefore, thou son^H1121 of man^H120, prepare^H6213^(H8798) thee stuff^H3627 for removing^H1473, and remove^H1540^(H8798) by day^H3119 in their sight^H5869; and thou shalt remove^H1540^(H8804) from thy place^H4725 to another^H312 place^H4725 in their sight^H5869: it may be they will consider^H7200^(H8799), though they be a rebellious^H4805 house^H1004.

⁴ You shall bring out your baggage by day in their sight, as baggage for moving. You shall go out yourself at evening in their sight, as when men go out into exile.

KJVThen shalt thou bring forth^H3318^(H8689) thy stuff^H3627 by day^H3119 in their sight^H5869, as stuff^H3627 for removing^H1473: and thou shalt go forth^H3318^(H8799) at even^H6153 in their sight^H5869, as they that go forth^H4161 into captivity^H1473.

⁵ Dig through the wall in their sight, and carry your baggage out that way.

⁶ In their sight you shall bear it on your shoulder, and carry it out in the dark. You shall cover your face, so that you don’t see the land, for I have set you for a sign to the house of Israel.”

⁷ I did so as I was commanded. I brought out my baggage by day, as baggage for moving, and in the evening I dug through the wall with my hand. I brought it out in the dark, and bore it on my shoulder in their sight.

⁸ In the morning, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

⁹ “Son of man, hasn’t the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, ‘What are you doing?’

KJVSon^H1121 of man^H120, hath not the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478, the rebellious^H4805 house^H1004, said^H559^(H8804) unto thee, What doest^H6213^(H8802) thou?

¹⁰ “Say to them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.”’

KJVSay^H559^(H8798) thou unto them, Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; This burden^H4853 concerneth the prince^H5387 in Jerusalem^H3389, and all the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478 that are among^H8432 them.

¹¹ “Say, ‘I am your sign. As I have done, so will it be done to them. They will go into exile, into captivity.

KJVSay^H559^(H8798), I am your sign^H4159: like as I have done^H6213^(H8804), so shall it be done^H6213^(H8735) unto them: they shall remove^H1473 and go^H3212^(H8799) into captivity^H7628.

¹² “‘The prince who is among them will bear his baggage on his shoulder in the dark, and will go out. They will dig through the wall to carry things out that way. He will cover his face, because he will not see the land with his eyes.

¹³ I will also spread my net on him, and he will be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.

¹⁴ I will scatter toward every wind all who are around him to help him, and all his bands. I will draw out the sword after them.

¹⁵ “‘They will know that I am Yahweh when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them through the countries.

KJVAnd they shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068, when I shall scatter^H6327^(H8687) them among the nations^H1471, and disperse^H2219^(H8765) them in the countries^H776.

¹⁶ But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence, that they may declare all their abominations among the nations where they come. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’”

¹⁷ Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

¹⁸ “Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and with fearfulness.

¹⁹ Tell the people of the land, ‘The Lord Yahweh says concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem and the land of Israel: “They will eat their bread with fearfulness and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, and all that is therein, because of the violence of all those who dwell therein.

KJVAnd say^H559^(H8804) unto the people^H5971 of the land^H127, Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069 of the inhabitants^H3427^(H8802) of Jerusalem^H3389, and of the land^H776 of Israel^H3478; They shall eat^H398^(H8799) their bread^H3899 with carefulness^H1674, and drink^H8354^(H8799) their water^H4325 with astonishment^H8078, that her land^H776 may be desolate^H3456^(H8799) from all that is therein^H4393, because of the violence^H2555 of all them that dwell^H3427^(H8802) therein.

²⁰ The cities that are inhabited will be laid waste, and the land will be a desolation. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

KJVAnd the cities^H5892 that are inhabited^H3427^(H8737) shall be laid waste^H2717^(H8799), and the land^H776 shall be desolate^H8077; and ye shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068.

²¹ Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

KJVAnd the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 came unto me, saying^H559^(H8800),

²² “Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying, ‘The days are prolonged, and every vision fails’?

KJVSon^H1121 of man^H120, what is that proverb^H4912 that ye have in the land^H127 of Israel^H3478, saying^H559^(H8800), The days^H3117 are prolonged^H748^(H8799), and every vision^H2377 faileth^H6^(H8804)?

²³ Tell them therefore, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will make this proverb to cease, and they will no more use it as a proverb in Israel;”’ but tell them, ‘“The days are at hand, and the fulfillment of every vision.

KJVTell^H559^(H8798) them therefore, Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; I will make this proverb^H4912 to cease^H7673^(H8689), and they shall no more use it as a proverb^H4911^(H8799) in Israel^H3478; but say^H1696^(H8761) unto them, The days^H3117 are at hand^H7126^(H8804), and the effect^H1697 of every vision^H2377.

²⁴ For there will be no more any false vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.

KJVFor there shall be no more any vain^H7723 vision^H2377 nor flattering^H2509 divination^H4738 within^H8432 the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478.

²⁵ For I am Yahweh. I will speak, and the word that I speak will be performed. It will be no more deferred; for in your days, rebellious house, I will speak the word and will perform it,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

²⁶ Again Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

KJVAgain the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 came to me, saying^H559^(H8800),

²⁷ “Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, ‘The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of times that are far off.’

KJVSon^H1121 of man^H120, behold, they of the house^H1004 of Israel^H3478 say^H559^(H8802), The vision^H2377 that he seeth^H2372^(H8802) is for many^H7227 days^H3117 to come, and he prophesieth^H5012^(H8738) of the times^H6256 that are far^H7350 off.

²⁸ “Therefore tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “None of my words will be deferred any more, but the word which I speak will be performed,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”

KJVTherefore say^H559^(H8798) unto them, Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; There shall none of my words^H1697 be prolonged^H4900^(H8735) any more, but the word^H1697 which I have spoken^H1696^(H8762) shall be done^H6213^(H8735), saith^H5002^(H8803) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069.

¹Moreover the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of Yahweh’s house, which looks eastward. Behold, twenty-five men were at the door of the gate; and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

² He said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city;

³ who say, ‘The time is not near to build houses. This is the cauldron, and we are the meat.’

KJVWhich say^H559^(H8802), It is not near^H7138; let us build^H1129^(H8800) houses^H1004: this city is the caldron^H5518, and we be the flesh^H1320.

⁴ Therefore prophesy against them. Prophesy, son of man.”

⁵ Yahweh’s Spirit fell on me, and he said to me, “Speak, ‘Yahweh says: “Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind.

KJVAnd the Spirit^H7307 of the LORD^H3068 fell^H5307^(H8799) upon me, and said^H559^(H8799) unto me, Speak^H559^(H8798); Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the LORD^H3068; Thus have ye said^H559^(H8799), O house^H1004 of Israel^H3478: for I know^H3045^(H8804) the things that come^H4609 into your mind^H7307, every one of them.

⁶ You have multiplied your slain in this city, and you have filled its streets with the slain.”

⁷ “‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Your slain whom you have laid in the middle of it, they are the meat, and this is the cauldron; but you will be brought out of the middle of it.

KJVTherefore thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Your slain^H2491 whom ye have laid^H7760^(H8804) in the midst^H8432 of it, they are the flesh^H1320, and this city is the caldron^H5518: but I will bring you forth^H3318^(H8689) out of the midst^H8432 of it.

⁸ You have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword on you,” says the Lord Yahweh.

KJVYe have feared^H3372^(H8804) the sword^H2719; and I will bring^H935^(H8686) a sword^H2719 upon you, saith^H5002^(H8803) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069.

⁹ “I will bring you out of the middle of it, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.

KJVAnd I will bring you out^H3318^(H8689) of the midst^H8432 thereof, and deliver^H5414^(H8804) you into the hands^H3027 of strangers^H2114^(H8801), and will execute^H6213^(H8804) judgments^H8201 among you.

¹⁰ You will fall by the sword. I will judge you in the border of Israel. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.

KJVYe shall fall^H5307^(H8799) by the sword^H2719; I will judge^H8199^(H8799) you in the border^H1366 of Israel^H3478; and ye shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068.

¹¹ This will not be your cauldron, neither will you be the meat in the middle of it. I will judge you in the border of Israel.

KJVThis city shall not be your caldron^H5518, neither shall ye be the flesh^H1320 in the midst^H8432 thereof; but I will judge^H8199^(H8799) you in the border^H1366 of Israel^H3478:

¹² You will know that I am Yahweh, for you have not walked in my statutes. You have not executed my ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are around you.”’”

KJVAnd ye shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068: for ye have not walked^H1980^(H8804) in my statutes^H2706, neither executed^H6213^(H8804) my judgments^H4941, but have done^H6213^(H8804) after the manners^H4941 of the heathen^H1471 that are round about^H5439 you.

¹³ When I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”

KJVAnd it came to pass, when I prophesied^H5012^(H8736), that Pelatiah^H6410 the son^H1121 of Benaiah^H1141 died^H4191^(H8804). Then fell I down^H5307^(H8799) upon my face^H6440, and cried^H2199^(H8799) with a loud^H1419 voice^H6963, and said^H559^(H8799), Ah^H162 Lord^H136 GOD^H3069! wilt thou make^H6213^(H8802) a full end^H3617 of the remnant^H7611 of Israel^H3478?

¹⁴ Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

KJVAgain the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 came unto me, saying^H559^(H8800),

¹⁵ “Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, are the ones to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far away from Yahweh. This land has been given to us for a possession.’

¹⁶ “Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet I will be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they have come.”’

KJVTherefore say^H559^(H8798), Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Although I have cast them far off^H7368^(H8689) among the heathen^H1471, and although I have scattered^H6327^(H8689) them among the countries^H776, yet will I be to them as a little^H4592 sanctuary^H4720 in the countries^H776 where they shall come^H935^(H8804).

¹⁷ “Therefore say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”

KJVTherefore say^H559^(H8798), Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; I will even gather^H6908^(H8765) you from the people^H5971, and assemble^H622^(H8804) you out of the countries^H776 where ye have been scattered^H6327^(H8738), and I will give^H5414^(H8804) you the land^H127 of Israel^H3478.

¹⁸ “‘They will come there, and they will take away all its detestable things and all its abominations from there.

KJVAnd they shall come^H935^(H8804) thither, and they shall take away^H5493^(H8689) all the detestable things^H8251 thereof and all the abominations^H8441 thereof from thence.

¹⁹ I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them. I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh,

KJVAnd I will give^H5414^(H8804) them one^H259 heart^H3820, and I will put^H5414^(H8799) a new^H2319 spirit^H7307 within^H7130 you; and I will take^H5493^(H8689) the stony^H68 heart^H3820 out of their flesh^H1320, and will give^H5414^(H8804) them an heart^H3820 of flesh^H1320:

²⁰ that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

²¹ But as for them whose heart walks after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way on their own heads,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”

²² Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, and the wheels were beside them. The glory of the God of Israel was over them above.

²³ Yahweh’s glory went up from the middle of the city, and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

²⁴ The Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the captives. So the vision that I had seen went up from me.

²⁵ Then I spoke to the captives all the things that Yahweh had shown me.
