¹He brought me to the nave and measured the posts, six cubits wide on the one side and six cubits wide on the other side, which was the width of the tent.

KJVAfterward he brought^H935^(H8686) me to the temple^H1964, and measured^H4058^(H8799) the posts^H352, six^H8337 cubits^H520 broad^H7341 on the one side^H6311, and six^H8337 cubits^H520 broad^H7341 on the other side^H6311, which was the breadth^H7341 of the tabernacle^H168.

² The width of the entrance was ten cubits, and the sides of the entrance were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side. He measured its length, forty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits.

KJVAnd the breadth^H7341 of the door^H6607 was ten^H6235 cubits^H520; and the sides^H3802 of the door^H6607 were five^H2568 cubits^H520 on the one side, and five^H2568 cubits^H520 on the other side: and he measured^H4058^(H8799) the length^H753 thereof, forty^H705 cubits^H520: and the breadth^H7341, twenty^H6242 cubits^H520.

³ Then he went inward and measured each post of the entrance, two cubits; and the entrance, six cubits; and the width of the entrance, seven cubits.

⁴ He measured its length, twenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the nave. He said to me, “This is the most holy place.”

⁵ Then he measured the wall of the house, six cubits; and the width of every side room, four cubits, all around the house on every side.

⁶ The side rooms were in three stories, one over another, and thirty in each story. They entered into the wall which belonged to the house for the side rooms all around, that they might be supported and not penetrate the wall of the house.

KJVAnd the side^H6763 chambers^H6763 were three^H7969, one over another^H6763, and thirty^H7970 in order^H6471; and they entered^H935^(H8802) into the wall^H7023 which was of the house^H1004 for the side chambers^H6763 round about^H5439, that they might have hold^H270^(H8803), but they had not hold^H270^(H8803) in the wall^H7023 of the house^H1004.

⁷ The side rooms were wider on the higher levels, because the walls were narrower at the higher levels. Therefore the width of the house increased upward; and so one went up from the lowest level to the highest through the middle level.

KJVAnd there was an enlarging^H7337^(H8804), and a winding about^H5437^(H8738) still upward^H4605 to the side chambers^H6763: for the winding about^H4141 of the house^H1004 went still upward^H4605 round about^H5439 the house^H1004: therefore the breadth^H7341 of the house^H1004 was still upward^H4605, and so increased^H5927^(H8799) from the lowest^H8481 chamber to the highest^H5945 by the midst^H8484.

⁸ I saw also that the house had a raised base all around. The foundations of the side rooms were a full reed of six great cubits.

KJVI saw^H7200^(H8804) also the height^H1363 of the house^H1004 round about^H5439: the foundations^H4328 of the side chambers^H6763 were a full^H4393 reed^H7070 of six^H8337 great^H679 cubits^H520.

⁹ The thickness of the outer wall of the side rooms was five cubits. That which was left was the place of the side rooms that belonged to the house.

KJVThe thickness^H7341 of the wall^H7023, which was for the side chamber^H6763 without^H2351, was five^H2568 cubits^H520: and that which was left^H3240^(H8716) was the place^H1004 of the side chambers^H6763 that were within^H1004.

¹⁰ Between the rooms was a width of twenty cubits around the house on every side.

KJVAnd between the chambers^H3957 was the wideness^H7341 of twenty^H6242 cubits^H520 round about^H5439 the house^H1004 on every side^H5439.

¹¹ The doors of the side rooms were toward an open area that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south. The width of the open area was five cubits all around.

KJVAnd the doors^H6607 of the side chambers^H6763 were toward the place that was left^H3240^(H8716), one^H259 door^H6607 toward^H1870 the north^H6828, and another^H259 door^H6607 toward the south^H1864: and the breadth^H7341 of the place^H4725 that was left^H3240^(H8716) was five^H2568 cubits^H520 round about^H5439.

¹² The building that was before the separate place at the side toward the west was seventy cubits wide; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and its length ninety cubits.

KJVNow the building^H1146 that was before^H6440 the separate place^H1508 at the end^H6285 toward^H1870 the west^H3220 was seventy^H7657 cubits^H520 broad^H7341; and the wall^H7023 of the building^H1146 was five^H2568 cubits^H520 thick^H7341 round about^H5439, and the length^H753 thereof ninety^H8673 cubits^H520.

¹³ So he measured the temple, one hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with its walls, one hundred cubits long;

¹⁴ also the width of the face of the temple, and of the separate place toward the east, one hundred cubits.

¹⁵ He measured the length of the building before the separate place which was at its back, and its galleries on the one side and on the other side, one hundred cubits from the inner temple, and the porches of the court,

¹⁶ the thresholds, and the closed windows, and the galleries around on their three stories, opposite the threshold, with wood ceilings all around, and from the ground up to the windows, (now the windows were covered),

KJVThe door posts^H5592, and the narrow^H331^(H8801) windows^H2474, and the galleries^H862 round about^H5439 on their three stories^H7969, over against^H5048 the door^H5592, cieled^H7824 with wood^H6086 round about^H5439, and from the ground^H776 up to the windows^H2474, and the windows^H2474 were covered^H3680^(H8794);

¹⁷ to the space above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall all around inside and outside, by measure.

KJVTo that above the door^H6607, even unto the inner^H6442 house^H1004, and without^H2351, and by all the wall^H7023 round about^H5439 within^H6442 and without^H2435, by measure^H4060.

¹⁸ It was made with cherubim and palm trees. A palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces,

KJVAnd it was made^H6213^(H8803) with cherubims^H3742 and palm trees^H8561, so that a palm tree^H8561 was between a cherub^H3742 and a cherub^H3742; and every cherub^H3742 had two^H8147 faces^H6440;

¹⁹ so that there was the face of a man toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side. It was made like this through all the house all around.

KJVSo that the face^H6440 of a man^H120 was toward the palm tree^H8561 on the one side, and the face^H6440 of a young lion^H3715 toward the palm tree^H8561 on the other side: it was made^H6213^(H8803) through all the house^H1004 round about^H5439.

²⁰ Cherubim and palm trees were made from the ground to above the door. The wall of the temple was like this.

KJVFrom the ground^H776 unto above the door^H6607 were cherubims^H3742 and palm trees^H8561 made^H6213^(H8803), and on the wall^H7023 of the temple^H1964.

²¹ The door posts of the nave were squared. As for the face of the nave, its appearance was as the appearance of the temple.

KJVThe posts^H4201 of the temple^H1964 were squared^H7251^(H8803), and the face^H6440 of the sanctuary^H6944; the appearance^H4758 of the one as the appearance^H4758 of the other.

²² The altar was of wood, three cubits high, and its length two cubits. Its corners, its base, and its walls were of wood. He said to me, “This is the table that is before Yahweh.”

²³ The temple and the sanctuary had two doors.

²⁴ The doors had two leaves each, two turning leaves: two for the one door, and two leaves for the other.

KJVAnd the doors^H1817 had two^H8147 leaves^H1817 apiece, two^H8147 turning^H4142^(H8716) leaves^H1817; two^H8147 leaves for the one^H259 door^H1817, and two^H8147 leaves^H1817 for the other^H312 door.

²⁵ There were made on them, on the doors of the nave, cherubim and palm trees, like those made on the walls. There was a threshold of wood on the face of the porch outside.

KJVAnd there were made^H6213^(H8803) on them, on the doors^H1817 of the temple^H1964, cherubims^H3742 and palm trees^H8561, like as were made^H6213^(H8803) upon the walls^H7023; and there were thick^H5646 planks^H6086 upon the face^H6440 of the porch^H197 without^H2351.

²⁶ There were closed windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch. This is how the side rooms of the temple and the thresholds were arranged.

KJVAnd there were narrow^H331^(H8801) windows^H2474 and palm trees^H8561 on the one side and on the other side, on the sides^H3802 of the porch^H197, and upon the side chambers^H6763 of the house^H1004, and thick planks^H5646.

¹In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city was struck, in the same day, Yahweh’s hand was on me, and he brought me there.

⁵ Behold, there was a wall on the outside of the house all around, and in the man’s hand a measuring reed six cubits long, of a cubit and a hand width each. So he measured the thickness of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

⁶ Then he came to the gate which looks toward the east, and went up its steps. He measured the threshold of the gate, one reed wide; and the other threshold, one reed wide.

⁷ Every lodge was one reed long and one reed wide. Between the lodges was five cubits. The threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate toward the house was one reed.

KJVAnd every little chamber^H8372 was one^H259 reed^H7070 long^H753, and one^H259 reed^H7070 broad^H7341; and between the little chambers^H8372 were five^H2568 cubits^H520; and the threshold^H5592 of the gate^H8179 by^H681 the porch^H197 of the gate^H8179 within^H1004 was one^H259 reed^H7070.

⁸ He measured also the porch of the gate toward the house, one reed.

⁹ Then he measured the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and its posts, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was toward the house.

¹⁰ The side rooms of the gate eastward were three on this side, and three on that side. The three of them were of one measure. The posts had one measure on this side and on that side.

KJVAnd the little chambers^H8372 of the gate^H8179 eastward^H1870^H6921 were three^H7969 on this side^H6311, and three^H7969 on that side^H6311; they three^H7969 were of one^H259 measure^H4060: and the posts^H352 had one^H259 measure^H4060 on this side and on that side.

¹¹ He measured the width of the opening of the gate, ten cubits; and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits;

KJVAnd he measured^H4058^(H8799) the breadth^H7341 of the entry^H6607 of the gate^H8179, ten^H6235 cubits^H520; and the length^H753 of the gate^H8179, thirteen^H7969^H6240 cubits^H520.

¹² and a border before the lodges, one cubit on this side, and a border, one cubit on that side; and the side rooms, six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

¹³ He measured the gate from the roof of the one side room to the roof of the other, a width of twenty-five cubits, door against door.

¹⁴ He also made posts, sixty cubits; and the court reached to the posts, around the gate.

KJVHe made^H6213^(H8799) also posts^H352 of threescore^H8346 cubits^H520, even unto the post^H352 of the court^H2691 round about^H5439 the gate^H8179.

¹⁵ From the forefront of the gate at the entrance to the forefront of the inner porch of the gate were fifty cubits.

KJVAnd from the face^H6440 of the gate^H8179 of the entrance^H2978 unto the face^H6440 of the porch^H197 of the inner^H6442 gate^H8179 were fifty^H2572 cubits^H520.

¹⁶ There were closed windows to the side rooms, and to their posts within the gate all around, and likewise to the arches. Windows were around inward. Palm trees were on each post.

KJVAnd there were narrow^H331^(H8801) windows^H2474 to the little chambers^H8372, and to their posts^H352 within^H6441 the gate^H8179 round about^H5439, and likewise to the arches^H361: and windows^H2474 were round about^H5439 inward^H6441: and upon each post^H352 were palm trees^H8561.

¹⁷ Then he brought me into the outer court. Behold, there were rooms and a pavement made for the court all around. Thirty rooms were on the pavement.

KJVThen brought^H935^(H8686) he me into the outward^H2435 court^H2691, and, lo, there were chambers^H3957, and a pavement^H7531 made^H6213^(H8803) for the court^H2691 round about^H5439: thirty^H7970 chambers^H3957 were upon the pavement^H7531.

¹⁸ The pavement was by the side of the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates, even the lower pavement.

KJVAnd the pavement^H7531 by the side^H3802 of the gates^H8179 over against^H5980 the length^H753 of the gates^H8179 was the lower^H8481 pavement^H7531.

¹⁹ Then he measured the width from the forefront of the lower gate to the forefront of the inner court outside, one hundred cubits, both on the east and on the north.

KJVThen he measured^H4058^(H8799) the breadth^H7341 from the forefront^H6440 of the lower^H8481 gate^H8179 unto the forefront^H6440 of the inner^H6442 court^H2691 without^H2351, an hundred^H3967 cubits^H520 eastward^H6921 and northward^H6828.

²⁰ He measured the length and width of the gate of the outer court which faces toward the north.

KJVAnd the gate^H8179 of the outward^H2435 court^H2691 that looked^H6440 toward^H1870 the north^H6828, he measured^H4058^(H8804) the length^H753 thereof, and the breadth^H7341 thereof.

²¹ The lodges of it were three on this side and three on that side. Its posts and its arches were the same as the measure of the first gate: its length was fifty cubits, and the width twenty-five cubits.

KJVAnd the little chambers^H8372 thereof were three^H7969 on this side and three^H7969 on that side; and the posts^H352 thereof and the arches^H361 thereof were after the measure^H4060 of the first^H7223 gate^H8179: the length^H753 thereof was fifty^H2572 cubits^H520, and the breadth^H7341 five^H2568 and twenty^H6242 cubits^H520.

²² Its windows, its arches, and its palm trees were the same as the measure of the gate which faces toward the east. They went up to it by seven steps. Its arches were before them.

KJVAnd their windows^H2474, and their arches^H361, and their palm trees^H8561, were after the measure^H4060 of the gate^H8179 that looketh^H6440 toward^H1870 the east^H6921; and they went up^H5927^(H8799) unto it by seven^H7651 steps^H4609; and the arches^H361 thereof were before^H6440 them.

²³ There was a gate to the inner court facing the other gate, on the north and on the east. He measured one hundred cubits from gate to gate.

KJVAnd the gate^H8179 of the inner^H6442 court^H2691 was over against the gate^H8179 toward the north^H6828, and toward the east^H6921; and he measured^H4058^(H8799) from gate^H8179 to gate^H8179 an hundred^H3967 cubits^H520.

²⁴ He led me toward the south; and behold, there was a gate toward the south. He measured its posts and its arches according to these measurements.

KJVAfter that he brought^H3212^(H8686) me toward^H1870 the south^H1864, and behold a gate^H8179 toward^H1870 the south^H1864: and he measured^H4058^(H8804) the posts^H352 thereof and the arches^H361 thereof according to these measures^H4060.

²⁵ There were windows in it and in its arches all around, like the other windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the width twenty-five cubits.

KJVAnd there were windows^H2474 in it and in the arches^H361 thereof round about^H5439, like those windows^H2474: the length^H753 was fifty^H2572 cubits^H520, and the breadth^H7341 five^H2568 and twenty^H6242 cubits^H520.

²⁶ There were seven steps to go up to it, and its arches were before them. It had palm trees, one on this side, and another on that side, on its posts.

KJVAnd there were seven^H7651 steps^H4609 to go up^H5930 to it, and the arches^H361 thereof were before^H6440 them: and it had palm trees^H8561, one^H259 on this side, and another^H259 on that side, upon the posts^H352 thereof.

²⁷ There was a gate to the inner court toward the south. He measured one hundred cubits from gate to gate toward the south.

KJVAnd there was a gate^H8179 in the inner^H6442 court^H2691 toward^H1870 the south^H1864: and he measured^H4058^(H8799) from gate^H8179 to gate^H8179 toward^H1870 the south^H1864 an hundred^H3967 cubits^H520.

²⁸ Then he brought me to the inner court by the south gate. He measured the south gate according to these measurements;

²⁹ with its lodges, its posts, and its arches, according to these measurements. There were windows in it and in its arches all around. It was fifty cubits long, and twenty-five cubits wide.

³⁰ There were arches all around, twenty-five cubits long and five cubits wide.

³¹ Its arches were toward the outer court. Palm trees were on its posts. The ascent to it had eight steps.

KJVAnd the arches^H361 thereof were toward the utter^H2435 court^H2691; and palm trees^H8561 were upon the posts^H352 thereof: and the going up^H4608 to it had eight^H8083 steps^H4609.

³² He brought me into the inner court toward the east. He measured the gate according to these measurements;

³³ with its lodges, its posts, and its arches, according to these measurements. There were windows in it and in its arches all around. It was fifty cubits long, and twenty-five cubits wide.

³⁴ Its arches were toward the outer court. Palm trees were on its posts on this side and on that side. The ascent to it had eight steps.

³⁵ He brought me to the north gate, and he measured it according to these measurements—

³⁶ its lodges, its posts, and its arches. There were windows in it all around. The length was fifty cubits and the width twenty-five cubits.

³⁸ A room with its door was by the posts at the gates. They washed the burnt offering there.

³⁹ In the porch of the gate were two tables on this side and two tables on that side, on which to kill the burnt offering, the sin offering, and the trespass offering.

⁴⁰ On the one side outside, as one goes up to the entry of the gate toward the north, were two tables; and on the other side, which belonged to the porch of the gate, were two tables.

⁴¹ Four tables were on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate: eight tables, on which they killed the sacrifices.

⁴³ The hooks, a hand width long, were fastened within all around. The meat of the offering was on the tables.

KJVAnd within^H1004 were hooks^H8240, an^H259 hand^H2948 broad, fastened^H3559^(H8716) round about^H5439: and upon the tables^H7979 was the flesh^H1320 of the offering^H7133.

⁴⁴ Outside of the inner gate were rooms for the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate. They faced toward the south. One at the side of the east gate faced toward the north.

KJVAnd without^H2351 the inner^H6442 gate^H8179 were the chambers^H3957 of the singers^H7891^(H8802) in the inner^H6442 court^H2691, which was at the side^H3802 of the north^H6828 gate^H8179; and their prospect^H6440 was toward^H1870 the south^H1864: one^H259 at the side^H3802 of the east^H6921 gate^H8179 having the prospect^H6440 toward^H1870 the north^H6828.

⁴⁵ He said to me, “This room, which faces toward the south, is for the priests who perform the duty of the house.

KJVAnd he said^H1696^(H8762) unto me, This^H2090 chamber^H3957, whose prospect^H6440 is toward^H1870 the south^H1864, is for the priests^H3548, the keepers^H8104^(H8802) of the charge^H4931 of the house^H1004.

⁴⁶ The room which faces toward the north is for the priests who perform the duty of the altar. These are the sons of Zadok, who from among the sons of Levi come near to Yahweh to minister to him.”

⁴⁷ He measured the court, one hundred cubits long and one hundred cubits wide, square. The altar was before the house.

⁴⁸ Then he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side. The width of the gate was three cubits on this side and three cubits on that side.

⁴⁹ The length of the porch was twenty cubits and the width eleven cubits, even by the steps by which they went up to it. There were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and another on that side.

KJVThe length^H753 of the porch^H197 was twenty^H6242 cubits^H520, and the breadth^H7341 eleven^H6249^H6240 cubits^H520; and he brought me by the steps^H4609 whereby they went up^H5927^(H8799) to it: and there were pillars^H5982 by the posts^H352, one^H259 on this side, and another^H259 on that side.
