¹Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

² “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one,

⁴⁶ all those who were counted were six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty.

⁴⁷ But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not counted among them.

⁴⁸ For Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

KJVFor the LORD^H3068 had spoken^H1696^(H8762) unto Moses^H4872, saying^H559^(H8800),

⁴⁹ “Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, neither shall you take a census of them among the children of Israel;

KJVOnly thou shalt not number^H6485^(H8799) the tribe^H4294 of Levi^H3878, neither take^H5375^(H8799) the sum^H7218 of them among^H8432 the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478:

⁵⁰ but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.

⁵¹ When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.

KJVAnd when the tabernacle^H4908 setteth forward^H5265^(H8800), the Levites^H3881 shall take it down^H3381^(H8686): and when the tabernacle^H4908 is to be pitched^H2583^(H8800), the Levites^H3881 shall set it up^H6965^(H8686): and the stranger^H2114^(H8801) that cometh nigh^H7131 shall be put to death^H4191^(H8714).

⁵² The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.

⁵³ But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel. The Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”

⁵⁴ Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so they did.

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

² “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘When a man consecrates a person to Yahweh in a vow, according to your valuation,

KJVSpeak^H1696^(H8761) unto the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, and say^H559^(H8804) unto them, When a man^H376 shall make a singular^H6381^(H8686) vow^H5088, the persons^H5315 shall be for the LORD^H3068 by thy estimation^H6187.

³ your valuation of a male from twenty years old to sixty years old shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

KJVAnd thy estimation^H6187 shall be of the male^H2145 from twenty^H6242 years^H8141 old^H1121 even unto sixty^H8346 years^H8141 old^H1121, even thy estimation^H6187 shall be fifty^H2572 shekels^H8255 of silver^H3701, after the shekel^H8255 of the sanctuary^H6944.

⁴ If she is a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekels.

⁵ If the person is from five years old to twenty years old, then your valuation shall be for a male twenty shekels, and for a female ten shekels.

KJVAnd if it be from five^H2568 years^H8141 old^H1121 even unto twenty^H6242 years^H8141 old^H1121, then thy estimation^H6187 shall be of the male^H2145 twenty^H6242 shekels^H8255, and for the female^H5347 ten^H6235 shekels^H8255.

⁶ If the person is from a month old to five years old, then your valuation shall be for a male five shekels of silver, and for a female your valuation shall be three shekels of silver.

KJVAnd if it be from a month^H2320 old^H1121 even unto five^H2568 years^H8141 old^H1121, then thy estimation^H6187 shall be of the male^H2145 five^H2568 shekels^H8255 of silver^H3701, and for the female^H5347 thy estimation^H6187 shall be three^H7969 shekels^H8255 of silver^H3701.

⁷ If the person is from sixty years old and upward; if he is a male, then your valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for a female ten shekels.

KJVAnd if it be from sixty^H8346 years^H8141 old^H1121 and above^H4605; if it be a male^H2145, then thy estimation^H6187 shall be fifteen^H2568^H6240 shekels^H8255, and for the female^H5347 ten^H6235 shekels^H8255.

⁸ But if he is poorer than your valuation, then he shall be set before the priest, and the priest shall assign a value to him. The priest shall assign a value according to his ability to pay.

⁹ “‘If it is an animal of which men offer an offering to Yahweh, all that any man gives of such to Yahweh becomes holy.

KJVAnd if it be a beast^H929, whereof men bring^H7126^(H8686) an offering^H7133 unto the LORD^H3068, all that any man giveth^H5414^(H8799) of such unto the LORD^H3068 shall be holy^H6944.

¹⁰ He shall not alter it, nor exchange it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good. If he shall at all exchange animal for animal, then both it and that for which it is exchanged shall be holy.

¹¹ If it is any unclean animal, of which they do not offer as an offering to Yahweh, then he shall set the animal before the priest;

¹² and the priest shall evaluate it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest evaluates it, so it shall be.

¹³ But if he will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of it to its valuation.

¹⁴ “‘When a man dedicates his house to be holy to Yahweh, then the priest shall evaluate it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest evaluates it, so it shall stand.

KJVAnd when a man^H376 shall sanctify^H6942^(H8686) his house^H1004 to be holy^H6944 unto the LORD^H3068, then the priest^H3548 shall estimate^H6186^(H8689) it, whether it be good^H2896 or bad^H7451: as the priest^H3548 shall estimate^H6186^(H8686) it, so shall it stand^H6965^(H8799).

¹⁵ If he who dedicates it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall be his.

¹⁶ “‘If a man dedicates to Yahweh part of the field of his possession, then your valuation shall be according to the seed for it. The sowing of a homer of barley shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver.

KJVAnd if a man^H376 shall sanctify^H6942^(H8686) unto the LORD^H3068 some part of a field^H7704 of his possession^H272, then thy estimation^H6187 shall be according^H6310 to the seed^H2233 thereof: an homer^H2563 of barley^H8184 seed^H2233 shall be valued at fifty^H2572 shekels^H8255 of silver^H3701.

¹⁷ If he dedicates his field from the Year of Jubilee, according to your valuation it shall stand.

¹⁸ But if he dedicates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the Year of Jubilee; and an abatement shall be made from your valuation.

¹⁹ If he who dedicated the field will indeed redeem it, then he shall add the fifth part of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall remain his.

²⁰ If he will not redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more;

²¹ but the field, when it goes out in the Jubilee, shall be holy to Yahweh, as a devoted field. It shall be owned by the priests.

²² “‘If he dedicates a field to Yahweh which he has bought, which is not of the field of his possession,

²³ then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation up to the Year of Jubilee; and he shall give your valuation on that day, as a holy thing to Yahweh.

²⁴ In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.

²⁵ All your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel.

²⁶ “‘However the firstborn among animals, which belongs to Yahweh as a firstborn, no man may dedicate, whether an ox or a sheep. It is Yahweh’s.

KJVOnly the firstling^H1060 of the beasts^H929, which should be the LORD'S^H3068 firstling^H1069^(H8792), no man^H376 shall sanctify^H6942^(H8686) it; whether it be ox^H7794, or sheep^H7716: it is the LORD'S^H3068.

²⁷ If it is an unclean animal, then he shall buy it back according to your valuation, and shall add to it the fifth part of it; or if it isn’t redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation.

²⁸ “‘Notwithstanding, no devoted thing that a man devotes to Yahweh of all that he has, whether of man or animal, or of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed. Everything that is permanently devoted is most holy to Yahweh.

²⁹ “‘No one devoted to destruction, who shall be devoted from among men, shall be ransomed. He shall surely be put to death.

³⁰ “‘All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the trees, is Yahweh’s. It is holy to Yahweh.

³¹ If a man redeems anything of his tithe, he shall add a fifth part to it.
