Leviticus 5
WEB·Leviticus 5
1“‘If anyone sins, in that he hears a public adjuration to testify, he being a witness, whether he has seen or known, if he doesn’t report it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
KJVAnd if a soulH5315 sinH2398(H8799), and hearH8085(H8804) the voiceH6963 of swearingH423, and is a witnessH5707, whetherH176 he hath seenH7200(H8804) or knownH3045(H8804) of it; if he do not utterH5046(H8686) it, then he shall bearH5375(H8804) his iniquityH5771.
2 “‘Or if anyone touches any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean animal, or the carcass of unclean livestock, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he shall be guilty.
KJVOr if a soulH5315 touchH5060(H8799) any uncleanH2931 thingH1697, whether it be a carcaseH5038 of an uncleanH2931 beastH2416, or a carcaseH5038 of uncleanH2931 cattleH929, or the carcaseH5038 of uncleanH2931 creeping thingsH8318, and if it be hiddenH5956(H8738) from him; he also shall be uncleanH2931, and guiltyH816(H8804).
3 “‘Or if he touches the uncleanness of man, whatever his uncleanness is with which he is unclean, and it is hidden from him; when he knows of it, then he shall be guilty.
KJVOr if he touchH5060(H8799) the uncleannessH2932 of manH120, whatsoever uncleannessH2932 it be that a man shall be defiledH2930(H8799) withal, and it be hidH5956(H8738) from him; when he knowethH3045(H8804) of it, then he shall be guiltyH816(H8804).
4 “‘Or if anyone swears rashly with his lips to do evil or to do good—whatever it is that a man might utter rashly with an oath, and it is hidden from him—when he knows of it, then he will be guilty of one of these.
KJVOr if a soulH5315 swearH7650(H8735), pronouncingH981(H8763) with his lipsH8193 to do evilH7489(H8687), or to do goodH3190(H8687), whatsoever it be that a manH120 shall pronounceH981(H8762) with an oathH7621, and it be hidH5956(H8738) from him; when he knowethH3045(H8804) of it, then he shall be guiltyH816(H8804) in oneH259 of these.
5 It shall be, when he is guilty of one of these, he shall confess that in which he has sinned;
KJVAnd it shall be, when he shall be guiltyH816(H8799) in oneH259 of these things, that he shall confessH3034(H8694) that he hath sinnedH2398(H8804) in that thing:
6 and he shall bring his trespass offering to Yahweh for his sin which he has sinned: a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin.
KJVAnd he shall bringH935(H8689) his trespass offeringH817 unto the LORDH3068 for his sinH2403 which he hath sinnedH2398(H8804), a femaleH5347 from the flockH6629, a lambH3776 or a kidH8166 of the goatsH5795, for a sin offeringH2403; and the priestH3548 shall make an atonementH3722(H8765) for him concerning his sinH2403.
7 “‘If he can’t afford a lamb, then he shall bring his trespass offering for that in which he has sinned, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, to Yahweh; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.
KJVAnd if heH3027 be not ableH1767 to bringH5060(H8686) a lambH7716, then he shall bringH935(H8689) forH854 his trespassH817, which he hath committedH2398(H8804), twoH8147 turtledovesH8449, or twoH8147 youngH1121 pigeonsH3123, unto the LORDH3068; oneH259 for a sin offeringH2403, and the otherH259 for a burnt offeringH5930.
8 He shall bring them to the priest, who shall first offer the one which is for the sin offering. He shall wring off its head from its neck, but shall not sever it completely.
KJVAnd he shall bringH935(H8689) them unto the priestH3548, who shall offerH7126(H8689) that which is for the sin offeringH2403 firstH7223, and wring offH4454(H8804) his headH7218 fromH4136 his neckH6203, but shall not divide it asunderH914(H8686):
9 He shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering on the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin offering.
KJVAnd he shall sprinkleH5137(H8689) of the bloodH1818 of the sin offeringH2403 upon the sideH7023 of the altarH4196; and the restH7604(H8737) of the bloodH1818 shall be wrung outH4680(H8735) at the bottomH3247 of the altarH4196: it is a sin offeringH2403.
10 He shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the ordinance; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven.
KJVAnd he shall offerH6213(H8799) the secondH8145 for a burnt offeringH5930, according to the mannerH4941: and the priestH3548 shall make an atonementH3722(H8765) for him for his sinH2403 which he hath sinnedH2398(H8804), and it shall be forgivenH5545(H8738) him.
11 “‘But if he can’t afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, then he shall bring as his offering for that in which he has sinned, one tenth of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering. He shall put no oil on it, and he shall not put any frankincense on it, for it is a sin offering.
KJVBut if heH3027 be not able to bringH5381(H8686) twoH8147 turtledovesH8449, or twoH8147 youngH1121 pigeonsH3123, then he that sinnedH2398(H8804) shall bringH935(H8689) for his offeringH7133 the tenthH6224 part of an ephahH374 of fine flourH5560 for a sin offeringH2403; he shall putH7760(H8799) no oilH8081 upon it, neither shall he putH5414(H8799) any frankincenseH3828 thereon: for it is a sin offeringH2403.
12 He shall bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it as the memorial portion, and burn it on the altar, on the offerings of Yahweh made by fire. It is a sin offering.
KJVThen shall he bringH935(H8689) it to the priestH3548, and the priestH3548 shall takeH7061(H8804) his handfulH4393H7062 of it, even a memorialH234 thereof, and burnH6999(H8689) it on the altarH4196, according to the offerings made by fireH801 unto the LORDH3068: it is a sin offeringH2403.
13 The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned in any of these things, and he will be forgiven; and the rest shall be the priest’s, as the meal offering.’”
KJVAnd the priestH3548 shall make an atonementH3722(H8765) for him as touching his sinH2403 that he hath sinnedH2398(H8804) in oneH259 of these, and it shall be forgivenH5545(H8738) him: and the remnant shall be the priest'sH3548, as a meat offeringH4503.
14 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
KJVAnd the LORDH3068 spakeH1696(H8762) unto MosesH4872, sayingH559(H8800),
15 “If anyone commits a trespass, and sins unwittingly regarding Yahweh’s holy things, then he shall bring his trespass offering to Yahweh: a ram without defect from the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering.
KJVIf a soulH5315 commitH4603(H8799) a trespassH4604, and sinH2398(H8804) through ignoranceH7684, in the holy thingsH6944 of the LORDH3068; then he shall bringH935(H8689) for his trespassH817 unto the LORDH3068 a ramH352 without blemishH8549 out of the flocksH6629, with thy estimationH6187 by shekelsH8255 of silverH3701, after the shekelH8255 of the sanctuaryH6944, for a trespass offeringH817:
16 He shall make restitution for that which he has done wrong regarding the holy thing, and shall add a fifth part to it, and give it to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and he will be forgiven.
KJVAnd he shall make amendsH7999(H8762) for the harmH2398(H8804) that he hath done in the holy thingH6944, and shall addH3254(H8686) the fifth partH2549 thereto, and giveH5414(H8804) it unto the priestH3548: and the priestH3548 shall make an atonementH3722(H8762) for him with the ramH352 of the trespass offeringH817, and it shall be forgivenH5545(H8738) him.
17 “If anyone sins, doing any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, though he didn’t know it, he is still guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
KJVAnd if a soulH5315 sinH2398(H8799), and commitH6213(H8804) anyH259 of these things which are forbidden to be doneH6213(H8735) by the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068; though he wistH3045(H8804) it not, yet is he guiltyH816(H8804), and shall bearH5375(H8804) his iniquityH5771.
18 He shall bring a ram without defect from of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning the thing in which he sinned and didn’t know it, and he will be forgiven.
KJVAnd he shall bringH935(H8689) a ramH352 without blemishH8549 out of the flockH6629, with thy estimationH6187, for a trespass offeringH817, unto the priestH3548: and the priestH3548 shall make an atonementH3722(H8765) for him concerning his ignoranceH7684 wherein he erredH7683(H8804) and wistH3045(H8804) it not, and it shall be forgivenH5545(H8738) him.
19 It is a trespass offering. He is certainly guilty before Yahweh.”
KJVIt is a trespass offeringH817: he hath certainlyH816(H8800) trespassedH816(H8804) against the LORDH3068.
