¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

² “Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you have come into the land of your habitations, which I give to you,

³ and will make an offering by fire to Yahweh—a burnt offering, or a sacrifice, to accomplish a vow, or as a free will offering, or in your set feasts, to make a pleasant aroma to Yahweh, of the herd, or of the flock—

KJVAnd will make^H6213^(H8804) an offering by fire^H801 unto the LORD^H3068, a burnt offering^H5930, or a sacrifice^H2077 in performing^H6381^(H8763) a vow^H5088, or in a freewill offering^H5071, or in your solemn feasts^H4150, to make^H6213^(H8800) a sweet^H5207 savour^H7381 unto the LORD^H3068, of the herd^H1241, or of the flock^H6629:

⁴ then he who offers his offering shall offer to Yahweh a meal offering of one tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with one fourth of a hin of oil.

⁵ You shall prepare wine for the drink offering, one fourth of a hin, with the burnt offering or for the sacrifice, for each lamb.

⁶ “‘For a ram, you shall prepare for a meal offering two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with the third part of a hin of oil;

KJVOr for a ram^H352, thou shalt prepare^H6213^(H8799) for a meat offering^H4503 two^H8147 tenth deals^H6241 of flour^H5560 mingled^H1101^(H8803) with the third^H7992 part of an hin^H1969 of oil^H8081.

⁷ and for the drink offering you shall offer the third part of a hin of wine, of a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.

⁸ When you prepare a bull for a burnt offering or for a sacrifice, to accomplish a vow, or for peace offerings to Yahweh,

KJVAnd when thou preparest^H6213^(H8799) a bullock^H1121^H1241 for a burnt offering^H5930, or for a sacrifice^H2077 in performing^H6381^(H8763) a vow^H5088, or peace offerings^H8002 unto the LORD^H3068:

⁹ then he shall offer with the bull a meal offering of three tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil;

KJVThen shall he bring^H7126^(H8689) with a bullock^H1241^H1121 a meat offering^H4503 of three^H7969 tenth deals^H6241 of flour^H5560 mingled^H1101^(H8803) with half^H2677 an hin^H1969 of oil^H8081.

¹⁰ and you shall offer for the drink offering half a hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.

¹¹ Thus it shall be done for each bull, for each ram, for each of the male lambs, or of the young goats.

¹² According to the number that you shall prepare, so you shall do to everyone according to their number.

¹³ “‘All who are native-born shall do these things in this way, in offering an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahweh.

KJVAll that are born of the country^H249 shall do^H6213^(H8799) these things after this manner, in offering^H7126^(H8687) an offering made by fire^H801, of a sweet^H5207 savour^H7381 unto the LORD^H3068.

¹⁴ If a stranger lives as a foreigner with you, or whoever may be among you throughout your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Yahweh, as you do, so he shall do.

KJVAnd if a stranger^H1616 sojourn^H1481^(H8799) with you, or whosoever be among^H8432 you in your generations^H1755, and will offer^H6213^(H8804) an offering made by fire^H801, of a sweet^H5207 savour^H7381 unto the LORD^H3068; as ye do^H6213^(H8799), so he shall do^H6213^(H8799).

¹⁵ For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you and for the stranger who lives as a foreigner, a statute forever throughout your generations. As you are, so the foreigner shall be before Yahweh.

KJVOne^H259 ordinance^H2708 shall be both for you of the congregation^H6951, and also for the stranger^H1616 that sojourneth^H1481^(H8802) with you, an ordinance^H2708 for ever^H5769 in your generations^H1755: as ye are, so shall the stranger^H1616 be before^H6440 the LORD^H3068.

¹⁶ One law and one ordinance shall be for you and for the stranger who lives as a foreigner with you.’”

¹⁷ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ “Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘When you come into the land where I bring you,

KJVSpeak^H1696^(H8761) unto the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, and say^H559^(H8804) unto them, When ye come^H935^(H8800) into the land^H776 whither I bring^H935^(H8688) you,

¹⁹ then it shall be that when you eat of the bread of the land, you shall offer up a wave offering to Yahweh.

²⁰ Of the first of your dough you shall offer up a cake for a wave offering. As the wave offering of the threshing floor, so you shall heave it.

²² “‘When you err, and don’t observe all these commandments which Yahweh has spoken to Moses—

²³ even all that Yahweh has commanded you by Moses, from the day that Yahweh gave commandment and onward throughout your generations—

KJVEven all that the LORD^H3068 hath commanded^H6680^(H8765) you by the hand^H3027 of Moses^H4872, from the day^H3117 that the LORD^H3068 commanded^H6680^(H8765) Moses, and henceforward^H1973 among your generations^H1755;

²⁴ then it shall be, if it was done unwittingly, without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bull for a burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh, with its meal offering and its drink offering, according to the ordinance, and one male goat for a sin offering.

²⁵ The priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and they shall be forgiven; for it was an error, and they have brought their offering, an offering made by fire to Yahweh, and their sin offering before Yahweh, for their error.

²⁶ All the congregation of the children of Israel shall be forgiven, as well as the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them; for with regard to all the people, it was done unwittingly.

KJVAnd it shall be forgiven^H5545^(H8738) all the congregation^H5712 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, and the stranger^H1616 that sojourneth^H1481^(H8802) among^H8432 them; seeing all the people^H5971 were in ignorance^H7684.

²⁷ “‘If a person sins unwittingly, then he shall offer a female goat a year old for a sin offering.

KJVAnd if any^H259 soul^H5315 sin^H2398^(H8799) through ignorance^H7684, then he shall bring^H7126^(H8689) a she goat^H5795 of the first^H1323 year^H8141 for a sin offering^H2403.

²⁸ The priest shall make atonement for the soul who errs when he sins unwittingly before Yahweh. He shall make atonement for him; and he shall be forgiven.

KJVAnd the priest^H3548 shall make an atonement^H3722^(H8765) for the soul^H5315 that sinneth ignorantly^H7683^(H8802), when he sinneth^H2398^(H8800) by ignorance^H7684 before^H6440 the LORD^H3068, to make an atonement^H3722^(H8763) for him; and it shall be forgiven^H5545^(H8738) him.

²⁹ You shall have one law for him who does anything unwittingly, for him who is native-born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them.

KJVYe shall have one^H259 law^H8451 for him that sinneth^H6213^(H8802) through ignorance^H7684, both for him that is born^H249 among the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, and for the stranger^H1616 that sojourneth^H1481^(H8802) among^H8432 them.

³⁰ “‘But the soul who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native-born or a foreigner, blasphemes Yahweh. That soul shall be cut off from among his people.

KJVBut the soul^H5315 that doeth^H6213^(H8799) ought presumptuously^H7311^(H8802)^H3027, whether he be born in the land^H249, or a stranger^H4480^H1616, the same reproacheth^H1442^(H8764) the LORD^H3068; and that soul^H5315 shall be cut off^H3772^(H8738) from among^H7130 his people^H5971.

³¹ Because he has despised Yahweh’s word, and has broken his commandment, that soul shall be utterly cut off. His iniquity shall be on him.’”

KJVBecause he hath despised^H959^(H8804) the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068, and hath broken^H6565^(H8689) his commandment^H4687, that soul^H5315 shall utterly^H3772^(H8736) be cut off^H3772^(H8735); his iniquity^H5771 shall be upon him.

³² While the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.

KJVAnd while the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 were in the wilderness^H4057, they found^H4672^(H8799) a man^H376 that gathered^H7197^(H8781) sticks^H6086 upon the sabbath^H7676 day^H3117.

³³ Those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation.

KJVAnd they that found^H4672^(H8802) him gathering^H7197^(H8781) sticks^H6086 brought^H7126^(H8686) him unto Moses^H4872 and Aaron^H175, and unto all the congregation^H5712.

³⁴ They put him in custody, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.

³⁵ Yahweh said to Moses, “The man shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him with stones outside of the camp.”

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 said^H559^(H8799) unto Moses^H4872, The man^H376 shall be surely^H4191^(H8800) put to death^H4191^(H8714): all the congregation^H5712 shall stone^H7275^(H8800) him with stones^H68 without^H2351 the camp^H4264.

³⁶ All the congregation brought him outside of the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

³⁷ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

³⁸ “Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them that they should make themselves fringes on the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put on the fringe of each border a cord of blue.

KJVSpeak^H1696^(H8761) unto the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, and bid^H559^(H8804) them that they make^H6213^(H8804) them fringes^H6734 in the borders^H3671 of their garments^H899 throughout their generations^H1755, and that they put^H5414^(H8804) upon the fringe^H6734 of the borders^H3671 a ribband^H6616 of blue^H8504:

³⁹ It shall be to you for a fringe, that you may see it, and remember all Yahweh’s commandments, and do them; and that you don’t follow your own heart and your own eyes, after which you used to play the prostitute;

KJVAnd it shall be unto you for a fringe^H6734, that ye may look^H7200^(H8804) upon it, and remember^H2142^(H8804) all the commandments^H4687 of the LORD^H3068, and do^H6213^(H8804) them; and that ye seek^H8446^(H8799) not after^H310 your own heart^H3824 and your own eyes^H5869, after^H310 which ye use to go a whoring^H2181^(H8802):

⁴⁰ so that you may remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God.

KJVThat ye may remember^H2142^(H8799), and do^H6213^(H8804) all my commandments^H4687, and be^H1961^(H8804) holy^H6918 unto your God^H430.

⁴¹ I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Yahweh your God.”

¹All the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

² All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness!

KJVAnd all the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 murmured^H3885^(H8735) against Moses^H4872 and against Aaron^H175: and the whole congregation^H5712 said^H559^(H8799) unto them, Would God^H3863 that we had died^H4191^(H8804) in the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714! or would God^H3863 we had died^H4191^(H8804) in this wilderness^H4057!

³ Why does Yahweh bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return into Egypt?”

KJVAnd wherefore hath the LORD^H3068 brought^H935^(H8688) us unto this land^H776, to fall^H5307^(H8800) by the sword^H2719, that our wives^H802 and our children^H2945 should be a prey^H957? were it not better^H2896 for us to return^H7725^(H8800) into Egypt^H4714?

⁴ They said to one another, “Let’s choose a leader, and let’s return into Egypt.”

KJVAnd they said^H559^(H8799) one^H376 to another^H251, Let us make^H5414^(H8799) a captain^H7218, and let us return^H7725^(H8799) into Egypt^H4714.

⁵ Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

KJVThen Moses^H4872 and Aaron^H175 fell^H5307^(H8799) on their faces^H6440 before^H6440 all the assembly^H6951 of the congregation^H5712 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478.

⁶ Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes.

⁷ They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedingly good land.

⁸ If Yahweh delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us: a land which flows with milk and honey.

KJVIf the LORD^H3068 delight^H2654^(H8804) in us, then he will bring^H935^(H8689) us into this land^H776, and give^H5414^(H8804) it us; a land^H776 which floweth^H2100^(H8802) with milk^H2461 and honey^H1706.

⁹ Only don’t rebel against Yahweh, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us. Their defense is removed from over them, and Yahweh is with us. Don’t fear them.”

KJVOnly rebel^H4775^(H8799) not ye against the LORD^H3068, neither fear^H3372^(H8799) ye the people^H5971 of the land^H776; for they are bread^H3899 for us: their defence^H6738 is departed^H5493^(H8804) from them, and the LORD^H3068 is with us: fear^H3372^(H8799) them not.

¹⁰ But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. Yahweh’s glory appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Israel.

KJVBut all the congregation^H5712 bade^H559^(H8799) stone^H7275^(H8800) them with stones^H68. And the glory^H3519 of the LORD^H3068 appeared^H7200^(H8738) in the tabernacle^H168 of the congregation^H4150 before all the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478.

¹¹ Yahweh said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? How long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 said^H559^(H8799) unto Moses^H4872, How long will this people^H5971 provoke^H5006^(H8762) me? and how long will it be ere^H3808 they believe^H539^(H8686) me, for all the signs^H226 which I have shewed^H6213^(H8804) among^H7130 them?

¹² I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

KJVI will smite^H5221^(H8686) them with the pestilence^H1698, and disinherit^H3423^(H8686) them, and will make^H6213^(H8799) of thee a greater^H1419 nation^H1471 and mightier^H6099 than they.

¹³ Moses said to Yahweh, “Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them.

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 said^H559^(H8799) unto the LORD^H3068, Then the Egyptians^H4714 shall hear^H8085^(H8804) it,(for thou broughtest up^H5927^(H8689) this people^H5971 in thy might^H3581 from among^H7130 them;)

¹⁴ They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you Yahweh are among this people; for you Yahweh are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.

KJVAnd they will tell^H559^(H8804) it to the inhabitants^H3427^(H8802) of this land^H776: for they have heard^H8085^(H8804) that thou LORD^H3068 art among^H7130 this people^H5971, that thou LORD^H3068 art seen^H7200^(H8738) face^H5869 to face^H5869, and that thy cloud^H6051 standeth^H5975^(H8802) over them, and that thou goest^H1980^(H8802) before^H6440 them, by day time^H3119 in a pillar^H5982 of a cloud^H6051, and in a pillar^H5982 of fire^H784 by night^H3915.

¹⁵ Now if you killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,

KJVNow if thou shalt kill^H4191^(H8689) all this people^H5971 as one^H259 man^H376, then the nations^H1471 which have heard^H8085^(H8804) the fame^H8088 of thee will speak^H559^(H8804), saying^H559^(H8800),

¹⁶ ‘Because Yahweh was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.’

KJVBecause the LORD^H3068 was not^H1115 able^H3201^(H8800) to bring^H935^(H8687) this people^H5971 into the land^H776 which he sware^H7650^(H8738) unto them, therefore he hath slain^H7819^(H8799) them in the wilderness^H4057.

¹⁷ Now please let the power of the Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying,

KJVAnd now, I beseech thee, let the power^H3581 of my Lord^H136 be great^H1431^(H8799), according^H834 as thou hast spoken^H1696^(H8765), saying^H559^(H8800),

¹⁸ ‘Yahweh is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.’

KJVThe LORD^H3068 is longsuffering^H750^H639, and of great^H7227 mercy^H2617, forgiving^H5375^(H8802) iniquity^H5771 and transgression^H6588, and by no means^H5352^(H8763) clearing^H5352^(H8762) the guilty, visiting^H6485^(H8802) the iniquity^H5771 of the fathers^H1 upon the children^H1121 unto the third^H8029 and fourth^H7256 generation.

¹⁹ Please pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your loving kindness, and just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.”

KJVPardon^H5545^(H8798), I beseech thee, the iniquity^H5771 of this people^H5971 according unto the greatness^H1433 of thy mercy^H2617, and as thou hast forgiven^H5375^(H8804) this people^H5971, from Egypt^H4714 even until now^H2008.

²⁰ Yahweh said, “I have pardoned according to your word;

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 said^H559^(H8799), I have pardoned^H5545^(H8804) according to thy word^H1697:

²¹ but in very deed—as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with Yahweh’s glory—

KJVBut as truly^H199 as I live^H2416, all the earth^H776 shall be filled^H4390^(H8735) with the glory^H3519 of the LORD^H3068.

²² because all those men who have seen my glory and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice;

KJVBecause all those men^H582 which have seen^H7200^(H8802) my glory^H3519, and my miracles^H226, which I did^H6213^(H8804) in Egypt^H4714 and in the wilderness^H4057, and have tempted^H5254^(H8762)^H853 me now these ten^H6235 times^H6471, and have not hearkened^H8085^(H8804) to my voice^H6963;

²³ surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of those who despised me see it.

²⁴ But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him I will bring into the land into which he went. His offspring shall possess it.

KJVBut my servant^H5650 Caleb^H3612, because^H6118 he had another^H312 spirit^H7307 with him, and hath followed^H310 me fully^H4390^(H8762), him will I bring^H935^(H8689) into the land^H776 whereinto he went^H935^(H8804); and his seed^H2233 shall possess^H3423^(H8686) it.

⁴² Don’t go up, for Yahweh isn’t among you; that way you won’t be struck down before your enemies.

⁴³ For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and you will fall by the sword because you turned back from following Yahweh; therefore Yahweh will not be with you.”
