¹Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 spake^H1696^(H8762) unto Moses^H4872 in the wilderness^H4057 of Sinai^H5514, in the first^H7223 month^H2320 of the second^H8145 year^H8141 after they were come out^H3318^(H8800) of the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714, saying^H559^(H8800),

² “Let the children of Israel keep the Passover in its appointed season.

KJVLet the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 also keep^H6213^(H8799) the passover^H6453 at his appointed season^H4150.

³ On the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, you shall keep it in its appointed season. You shall keep it according to all its statutes and according to all its ordinances.”

KJVIn the fourteenth^H702^H6240 day^H3117 of this month^H2320, at even^H6153, ye shall keep^H6213^(H8799) it in his appointed season^H4150: according to all the rites^H2708 of it, and according to all the ceremonies^H4941 thereof, shall ye keep^H6213^(H8799) it.

⁴ Moses told the children of Israel that they should keep the Passover.

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 spake^H1696^(H8762) unto the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, that they should keep^H6213^(H8800) the passover^H6453.

⁵ They kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, in the wilderness of Sinai. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did.

KJVAnd they kept^H6213^(H8799) the passover^H6453 on the fourteenth^H702^H6240 day^H3117 of the first^H7223 month^H2320 at even^H6153 in the wilderness^H4057 of Sinai^H5514: according to all that the LORD^H3068 commanded^H6680^(H8765) Moses^H4872, so did^H6213^(H8804) the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478.

⁶ There were certain men who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and they came before Moses and Aaron on that day.

KJVAnd there were certain men^H582, who were defiled^H2931 by the dead body^H5315 of a man^H120, that they could^H3201^(H8804) not keep^H6213^(H8800) the passover^H6453 on that day^H3117: and they came^H7126^(H8799) before^H6440 Moses^H4872 and before^H6440 Aaron^H175 on that day^H3117:

⁷ Those men said to him, “We are unclean because of the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season among the children of Israel?”

KJVAnd those^H1992 men^H582 said^H559^(H8799) unto him, We are defiled^H2931 by the dead body^H5315 of a man^H120: wherefore are we kept back^H1639^(H8735), that we may not offer^H7126^(H8687) an offering^H7133 of the LORD^H3068 in his appointed season^H4150 among^H8432 the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478?

⁸ Moses answered them, “Wait, that I may hear what Yahweh will command concerning you.”

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 said^H559^(H8799) unto them, Stand still^H5975^(H8798), and I will hear^H8085^(H8799) what the LORD^H3068 will command^H6680^(H8762) concerning you.

⁹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 spake^H1696^(H8762) unto Moses^H4872, saying^H559^(H8800),

¹⁰ “Say to the children of Israel, ‘If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still keep the Passover to Yahweh.

KJVSpeak^H1696^(H8761) unto the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, saying^H559^(H8800), If any^H376 man^H376 of you or of your posterity^H1755 shall be unclean^H2931 by reason of a dead body^H5315, or be in a journey^H1870 afar off^H7350, yet he shall keep^H6213^(H8804) the passover^H6453 unto the LORD^H3068.

¹¹ In the second month, on the fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

KJVThe fourteenth^H702^H6240 day^H3117 of the second^H8145 month^H2320 at even^H6153 they shall keep^H6213^(H8799) it, and eat^H398^(H8799) it with unleavened bread^H4682 and bitter^H4844 herbs.

¹² They shall leave none of it until the morning, nor break a bone of it. According to all the statute of the Passover they shall keep it.

¹³ But the man who is clean, and is not on a journey, and fails to keep the Passover, that soul shall be cut off from his people. Because he didn’t offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.

KJVBut the man^H376 that is clean^H2889, and is not in a journey^H1870, and forbeareth^H2308^(H8804) to keep^H6213^(H8800) the passover^H6453, even the same soul^H5315 shall be cut off^H3772^(H8738) from among his people^H5971: because he brought^H7126^(H8689) not the offering^H7133 of the LORD^H3068 in his appointed season^H4150, that man^H376 shall bear^H5375^(H8799) his sin^H2399.

¹⁴ “‘If a foreigner lives among you and desires to keep the Passover to Yahweh, then he shall do so according to the statute of the Passover, and according to its ordinance. You shall have one statute, both for the foreigner and for him who is born in the land.’”

KJVAnd if a stranger^H1616 shall sojourn^H1481^(H8799) among you, and will keep^H6213^(H8804) the passover^H6453 unto the LORD^H3068; according to the ordinance^H2708 of the passover^H6453, and according to the manner^H4941 thereof, so shall he do^H6213^(H8799): ye shall have one^H259 ordinance^H2708, both for the stranger^H1616, and for him that was born^H249 in the land^H776.

¹⁵ On the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, even the Tent of the Testimony. At evening it was over the tabernacle, as it were the appearance of fire, until morning.

KJVAnd on the day^H3117 that the tabernacle^H4908 was reared up^H6965^(H8687) the cloud^H6051 covered^H3680^(H8765) the tabernacle^H4908, namely, the tent^H168 of the testimony^H5715: and at even^H6153 there was upon the tabernacle^H4908 as it were the appearance^H4758 of fire^H784, until the morning^H1242.

¹⁶ So it was continually. The cloud covered it, and the appearance of fire by night.

KJVSo it was alway^H8548: the cloud^H6051 covered^H3680^(H8762) it by day, and the appearance^H4758 of fire^H784 by night^H3915.

¹⁷ Whenever the cloud was taken up from over the Tent, then after that the children of Israel traveled; and in the place where the cloud remained, there the children of Israel encamped.

KJVAnd when^H6310 the cloud^H6051 was taken up^H5927^(H8736) from the tabernacle^H168, then after^H310 that the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 journeyed^H5265^(H8799): and in the place^H4725 where the cloud^H6051 abode^H7931^(H8799), there the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 pitched their tents^H2583^(H8799).

¹⁸ At the commandment of Yahweh, the children of Israel traveled, and at the commandment of Yahweh they encamped. As long as the cloud remained on the tabernacle they remained encamped.

KJVAt the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 journeyed^H5265^(H8799), and at the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 they pitched^H2583^(H8799): as long as^H3117 the cloud^H6051 abode^H7931^(H8799) upon the tabernacle^H4908 they rested^H2583^(H8799) in their tents.

¹⁹ When the cloud stayed on the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept Yahweh’s command, and didn’t travel.

KJVAnd when the cloud^H6051 tarried long^H748^(H8687) upon the tabernacle^H4908 many^H7227 days^H3117, then the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 kept^H8104^(H8804) the charge^H4931 of the LORD^H3068, and journeyed^H5265^(H8799) not.

²⁰ Sometimes the cloud was a few days on the tabernacle; then according to the commandment of Yahweh they remained encamped, and according to the commandment of Yahweh they traveled.

KJVAnd so it was^H3426, when the cloud^H6051 was a few^H4557 days^H3117 upon the tabernacle^H4908; according to the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 they abode^H2583^(H8799) in their tents, and according to the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 they journeyed^H5265^(H8799).

²¹ Sometimes the cloud was from evening until morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they traveled; or by day and by night, when the cloud was taken up, they traveled.

KJVAnd so it was^H3426, when the cloud^H6051 abode from even^H6153 unto the morning^H1242, and that the cloud^H6051 was taken up^H5927^(H8738) in the morning^H1242, then they journeyed^H5265^(H8804): whether it was by day^H3119 or by night^H3915 that the cloud^H6051 was taken up^H5927^(H8738), they journeyed^H5265^(H8804).

²² Whether it was two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud stayed on the tabernacle, remaining on it, the children of Israel remained encamped, and didn’t travel; but when it was taken up, they traveled.

²³ At the commandment of Yahweh they encamped, and at the commandment of Yahweh they traveled. They kept Yahweh’s command, at the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

² “Speak to Aaron, and tell him, ‘When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lamp stand.’”

KJVSpeak^H1696^(H8761) unto Aaron^H175, and say^H559^(H8804) unto him, When thou lightest^H5927^(H8687) the lamps^H5216, the seven^H7651 lamps^H5216 shall give light^H215^(H8686) over against^H6440^H4136 the candlestick^H4501.

³ Aaron did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lamp stand, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

KJVAnd Aaron^H175 did^H6213^(H8799) so; he lighted^H5927^(H8689) the lamps^H5216 thereof over against^H4136^H6440 the candlestick^H4501, as the LORD^H3068 commanded^H6680^(H8765) Moses^H4872.

⁴ This was the workmanship of the lamp stand, beaten work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was beaten work. He made the lamp stand according to the pattern which Yahweh had shown Moses.

KJVAnd this work^H4639 of the candlestick^H4501 was of beaten^H4749 gold^H2091, unto the shaft^H3409 thereof, unto the flowers^H6525 thereof, was beaten work^H4749: according unto the pattern^H4758 which the LORD^H3068 had shewed^H7200^(H8689) Moses^H4872, so he made^H6213^(H8804) the candlestick^H4501.

⁵ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 spake^H1696^(H8762) unto Moses^H4872, saying^H559^(H8800),

⁶ “Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

KJVTake^H3947^(H8798) the Levites^H3881 from among^H8432 the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, and cleanse^H2891^(H8765) them.

⁷ You shall do this to them to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies with a razor, let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.

KJVAnd thus shalt thou do^H6213^(H8799) unto them, to cleanse^H2891^(H8763) them: Sprinkle^H5137^(H8685) water^H4325 of purifying^H2403 upon them, and let them shave^H8593^H5674^(H8689) all their flesh^H1320, and let them wash^H3526^(H8765) their clothes^H899, and so make themselves clean^H2891^(H8694).

⁸ Then let them take a young bull and its meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil; and another young bull you shall take for a sin offering.

⁹ You shall present the Levites before the Tent of Meeting. You shall assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel.

KJVAnd thou shalt bring^H7126^(H8689) the Levites^H3881 before^H6440 the tabernacle^H168 of the congregation^H4150: and thou shalt gather^H6950 the whole assembly^H5712 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 together^H6950^(H8689):

¹⁰ You shall present the Levites before Yahweh. The children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites,

KJVAnd thou shalt bring^H7126^(H8689) the Levites^H3881 before^H6440 the LORD^H3068: and the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 shall put^H5564^(H8804) their hands^H3027 upon the Levites^H3881:

¹¹ and Aaron shall offer the Levites before Yahweh for a wave offering on the behalf of the children of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of Yahweh.

KJVAnd Aaron^H175 shall offer^H5130^(H8689) the Levites^H3881 before^H6440 the LORD^H3068 for an offering^H8573 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, that they may execute^H5647^(H8800) the service^H5656 of the LORD^H3068.

¹² “The Levites shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer the one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering to Yahweh, to make atonement for the Levites.

KJVAnd the Levites^H3881 shall lay^H5564^(H8799) their hands^H3027 upon the heads^H7218 of the bullocks^H6499: and thou shalt offer^H6213^(H8798) the one^H259 for a sin offering^H2403, and the other^H259 for a burnt offering^H5930, unto the LORD^H3068, to make an atonement^H3722^(H8763) for the Levites^H3881.

¹³ You shall set the Levites before Aaron and before his sons, and offer them as a wave offering to Yahweh.

KJVAnd thou shalt set^H5975^(H8689) the Levites^H3881 before^H6440 Aaron^H175, and before^H6440 his sons^H1121, and offer^H5130^(H8689) them for an offering^H8573 unto the LORD^H3068.

¹⁴ Thus you shall separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.

¹⁵ “After that, the Levites shall go in to do the service of the Tent of Meeting. You shall cleanse them, and offer them as a wave offering.

¹⁹ I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, so that there will be no plague among the children of Israel when the children of Israel come near to the sanctuary.”

²⁰ Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel did so to the Levites. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so the children of Israel did to them.

KJVAnd Moses^H4872, and Aaron^H175, and all the congregation^H5712 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, did^H6213^(H8799) to the Levites^H3881 according unto all that the LORD^H3068 commanded^H6680^(H8765) Moses^H4872 concerning the Levites^H3881, so did^H6213^(H8804) the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 unto them.

²¹ The Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a wave offering before Yahweh and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.

KJVAnd the Levites^H3881 were purified^H2398^(H8691), and they washed^H3526^(H8762) their clothes^H899; and Aaron^H175 offered^H5130^(H8686) them as an offering^H8573 before^H6440 the LORD^H3068; and Aaron^H175 made an atonement^H3722^(H8762) for them to cleanse^H2891^(H8763) them.

²² After that, the Levites went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before Aaron and before his sons: as Yahweh had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so they did to them.

²³ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁴ “This is what is assigned to the Levites: from twenty-five years old and upward they shall go in to wait on the service in the work of the Tent of Meeting;

KJVThis is it that belongeth unto the Levites^H3881: from twenty^H6242 and five^H2568 years^H8141 old^H1121 and upward^H4605 they shall go in^H935^(H8799) to wait^H6633^(H8800)^H6635 upon the service^H5656 of the tabernacle^H168 of the congregation^H4150:

²⁵ and from the age of fifty years they shall retire from doing the work, and shall serve no more,

KJVAnd from the age^H1121 of fifty^H2572 years^H8141 they shall cease^H7725^(H8799) waiting^H6635 upon the service^H5656 thereof, and shall serve^H5647^(H8799) no more:

²⁶ but shall assist their brothers in the Tent of Meeting, to perform the duty, and shall perform no service. This is how you shall have the Levites do their duties.”

KJVBut shall minister^H8334^(H8765) with their brethren^H251 in the tabernacle^H168 of the congregation^H4150, to keep^H8104^(H8800) the charge^H4931, and shall do^H5647^(H8799) no service^H5656. Thus shalt thou do^H6213^(H8799) unto the Levites^H3881 touching their charge^H4931.
