¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

² “Make two trumpets of silver. You shall make them of beaten work. You shall use them for the calling of the congregation and for the journeying of the camps.

KJVMake^H6213^(H8798) thee two^H8147 trumpets^H2689 of silver^H3701; of a whole piece^H4749 shalt thou make^H6213^(H8799) them: that thou mayest use^H1961^(H8804) them for the calling^H4744 of the assembly^H5712, and for the journeying^H4550 of the camps^H4264.

³ When they blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

KJVAnd when they shall blow^H8628^(H8804) with them^H2004, all the assembly^H5712 shall assemble^H3259^(H8738) themselves to thee at the door^H6607 of the tabernacle^H168 of the congregation^H4150.

⁴ If they blow just one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves to you.

KJVAnd if they blow^H8628^(H8799) but with one^H259 trumpet, then the princes^H5387, which are heads^H7218 of the thousands^H505 of Israel^H3478, shall gather^H3259^(H8738) themselves unto thee.

⁵ When you blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall go forward.

KJVWhen ye blow^H8628^(H8804) an alarm^H8643, then the camps^H4264 that lie^H2583^(H8802) on the east parts^H6924 shall go forward^H5265^(H8804).

⁶ When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall go forward. They shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

KJVWhen ye blow^H8628^(H8804) an alarm^H8643 the second time^H8145, then the camps^H4264 that lie^H2583^(H8802) on the south side^H8486 shall take their journey^H5265^(H8804): they shall blow^H8628^(H8799) an alarm^H8643 for their journeys^H4550.

⁷ But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.

KJVBut when the congregation^H6951 is to be gathered together^H6950^(H8687), ye shall blow^H8628^(H8799), but ye shall not sound an alarm^H7321^(H8686).

⁸ “The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. This shall be to you for a statute forever throughout your generations.

KJVAnd the sons^H1121 of Aaron^H175, the priests^H3548, shall blow^H8628^(H8799) with the trumpets^H2689; and they shall be to you for an ordinance^H2708 for ever^H5769 throughout your generations^H1755.

⁹ When you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets. Then you will be remembered before Yahweh your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

¹⁰ “Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God. I am Yahweh your God.”

¹¹ In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the covenant.

¹² The children of Israel went forward on their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud stayed in the wilderness of Paran.

KJVAnd the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 took^H5265^(H8799) their journeys^H4550 out of the wilderness^H4057 of Sinai^H5514; and the cloud^H6051 rested^H7931^(H8799) in the wilderness^H4057 of Paran^H6290.

¹³ They first went forward according to the commandment of Yahweh by Moses.

¹⁴ First, the standard of the camp of the children of Judah went forward according to their armies. Nahshon the son of Amminadab was over his army.

KJVIn the first^H7223 place went^H5265^(H8799) the standard^H1714 of the camp^H4264 of the children^H1121 of Judah^H3063 according to their armies^H6635: and over his host was Nahshon^H5177 the son^H1121 of Amminadab^H5992.

¹⁵ Nethanel the son of Zuar was over the army of the tribe of the children of Issachar.

KJVAnd over the host^H6635 of the tribe^H4294 of the children^H1121 of Issachar^H3485 was Nethaneel^H5417 the son^H1121 of Zuar^H6686.

¹⁶ Eliab the son of Helon was over the army of the tribe of the children of Zebulun.

KJVAnd over the host^H6635 of the tribe^H4294 of the children^H1121 of Zebulun^H2074 was Eliab^H446 the son^H1121 of Helon^H2497.

¹⁷ The tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bore the tabernacle, went forward.

¹⁸ The standard of the camp of Reuben went forward according to their armies. Elizur the son of Shedeur was over his army.

¹⁹ Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai was over the army of the tribe of the children of Simeon.

KJVAnd over the host^H6635 of the tribe^H4294 of the children^H1121 of Simeon^H8095 was Shelumiel^H8017 the son^H1121 of Zurishaddai^H6701.

²⁰ Eliasaph the son of Deuel was over the army of the tribe of the children of Gad.

²¹ The Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary. The others set up the tabernacle before they arrived.

KJVAnd the Kohathites^H6956 set forward^H5265^(H8804), bearing^H5375^(H8802) the sanctuary^H4720: and the other did set up^H6965^(H8689) the tabernacle^H4908 against they came^H935^(H8800).

²² The standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their armies. Elishama the son of Ammihud was over his army.

KJVAnd the standard^H1714 of the camp^H4264 of the children^H1121 of Ephraim^H669 set forward^H5265^(H8804) according to their armies^H6635: and over his host^H6635 was Elishama^H476 the son^H1121 of Ammihud^H5989.

²³ Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur was over the army of the tribe of the children of Manasseh.

²⁴ Abidan the son of Gideoni was over the army of the tribe of the children of Benjamin.

²⁵ The standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rear guard of all the camps, set forward according to their armies. Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai was over his army.

KJVAnd the standard^H1714 of the camp^H4264 of the children^H1121 of Dan^H1835 set forward^H5265^(H8804), which was the rereward^H622^(H8764) of all the camps^H4264 throughout their hosts^H6635: and over his host^H6635 was Ahiezer^H295 the son^H1121 of Ammishaddai^H5996.

²⁶ Pagiel the son of Ochran was over the army of the tribe of the children of Asher.

KJVAnd over the host^H6635 of the tribe^H4294 of the children^H1121 of Asher^H836 was Pagiel^H6295 the son^H1121 of Ocran^H5918.

²⁷ Ahira the son of Enan was over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphtali.

KJVAnd over the host^H6635 of the tribe^H4294 of the children^H1121 of Naphtali^H5321 was Ahira^H299 the son^H1121 of Enan^H5881.

²⁸ Thus were the travels of the children of Israel according to their armies; and they went forward.

KJVThus were^H428 the journeyings^H4550 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 according to their armies^H6635, when they set forward^H5265^(H8799).

²⁹ Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place of which Yahweh said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for Yahweh has spoken good concerning Israel.”

³⁰ He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.”

³¹ Moses said, “Don’t leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.

KJVAnd he said^H559^(H8799), Leave^H5800^(H8799) us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest^H3651^H3045^(H8804) how we are to encamp^H2583^(H8800) in the wilderness^H4057, and thou mayest be to us instead of eyes^H5869.

³² It shall be, if you go with us—yes, it shall be—that whatever good Yahweh does to us, we will do the same to you.”

KJVAnd it shall be, if thou go^H3212^(H8799) with us, yea, it shall be, that what goodness^H2896 the LORD^H3068 shall do^H3190^(H8686) unto us, the same will we do^H2895^(H8689) unto thee.

³³ They set forward from the Mount of Yahweh three days’ journey. The ark of Yahweh’s covenant went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them.

KJVAnd they departed^H5265^(H8799) from the mount^H2022 of the LORD^H3068 three^H7969 days^H3117' journey^H1870: and the ark^H727 of the covenant^H1285 of the LORD^H3068 went^H5265^(H8802) before^H6440 them in the three^H7969 days^H3117' journey^H1870, to search out^H8446^(H8800) a resting place^H4496 for them.

³⁴ The cloud of Yahweh was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.

KJVAnd the cloud^H6051 of the LORD^H3068 was upon them by day^H3119, when they went out^H5265^(H8800) of the camp^H4264.

³⁵ When the ark went forward, Moses said, “Rise up, Yahweh, and let your enemies be scattered! Let those who hate you flee before you!”

KJVAnd it came to pass, when the ark^H727 set forward^H5265^(H8800), that Moses^H4872 said^H559^(H8799), Rise up^H6965^(H8798), LORD^H3068, and let thine enemies^H341^(H8802) be scattered^H6327^(H8799); and let them that hate^H8130^(H8764) thee flee^H5127^(H8799) before^H6440 thee.

³⁶ When it rested, he said, “Return, Yahweh, to the ten thousands of the thousands of Israel.”

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

² “Let the children of Israel keep the Passover in its appointed season.

³ On the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, you shall keep it in its appointed season. You shall keep it according to all its statutes and according to all its ordinances.”

⁴ Moses told the children of Israel that they should keep the Passover.

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 spake^H1696^(H8762) unto the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, that they should keep^H6213^(H8800) the passover^H6453.

⁵ They kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at evening, in the wilderness of Sinai. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did.

⁶ There were certain men who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and they came before Moses and Aaron on that day.

KJVAnd there were certain men^H582, who were defiled^H2931 by the dead body^H5315 of a man^H120, that they could^H3201^(H8804) not keep^H6213^(H8800) the passover^H6453 on that day^H3117: and they came^H7126^(H8799) before^H6440 Moses^H4872 and before^H6440 Aaron^H175 on that day^H3117:

⁷ Those men said to him, “We are unclean because of the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season among the children of Israel?”

⁸ Moses answered them, “Wait, that I may hear what Yahweh will command concerning you.”

KJVAnd Moses^H4872 said^H559^(H8799) unto them, Stand still^H5975^(H8798), and I will hear^H8085^(H8799) what the LORD^H3068 will command^H6680^(H8762) concerning you.

⁹ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

KJVAnd the LORD^H3068 spake^H1696^(H8762) unto Moses^H4872, saying^H559^(H8800),

¹⁰ “Say to the children of Israel, ‘If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still keep the Passover to Yahweh.

KJVSpeak^H1696^(H8761) unto the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478, saying^H559^(H8800), If any^H376 man^H376 of you or of your posterity^H1755 shall be unclean^H2931 by reason of a dead body^H5315, or be in a journey^H1870 afar off^H7350, yet he shall keep^H6213^(H8804) the passover^H6453 unto the LORD^H3068.

¹¹ In the second month, on the fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.

¹³ But the man who is clean, and is not on a journey, and fails to keep the Passover, that soul shall be cut off from his people. Because he didn’t offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.

¹⁴ “‘If a foreigner lives among you and desires to keep the Passover to Yahweh, then he shall do so according to the statute of the Passover, and according to its ordinance. You shall have one statute, both for the foreigner and for him who is born in the land.’”

KJVAnd if a stranger^H1616 shall sojourn^H1481^(H8799) among you, and will keep^H6213^(H8804) the passover^H6453 unto the LORD^H3068; according to the ordinance^H2708 of the passover^H6453, and according to the manner^H4941 thereof, so shall he do^H6213^(H8799): ye shall have one^H259 ordinance^H2708, both for the stranger^H1616, and for him that was born^H249 in the land^H776.

¹⁵ On the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, even the Tent of the Testimony. At evening it was over the tabernacle, as it were the appearance of fire, until morning.

KJVAnd on the day^H3117 that the tabernacle^H4908 was reared up^H6965^(H8687) the cloud^H6051 covered^H3680^(H8765) the tabernacle^H4908, namely, the tent^H168 of the testimony^H5715: and at even^H6153 there was upon the tabernacle^H4908 as it were the appearance^H4758 of fire^H784, until the morning^H1242.

¹⁶ So it was continually. The cloud covered it, and the appearance of fire by night.

KJVSo it was alway^H8548: the cloud^H6051 covered^H3680^(H8762) it by day, and the appearance^H4758 of fire^H784 by night^H3915.

¹⁷ Whenever the cloud was taken up from over the Tent, then after that the children of Israel traveled; and in the place where the cloud remained, there the children of Israel encamped.

KJVAnd when^H6310 the cloud^H6051 was taken up^H5927^(H8736) from the tabernacle^H168, then after^H310 that the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 journeyed^H5265^(H8799): and in the place^H4725 where the cloud^H6051 abode^H7931^(H8799), there the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 pitched their tents^H2583^(H8799).

¹⁸ At the commandment of Yahweh, the children of Israel traveled, and at the commandment of Yahweh they encamped. As long as the cloud remained on the tabernacle they remained encamped.

KJVAt the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 journeyed^H5265^(H8799), and at the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 they pitched^H2583^(H8799): as long as^H3117 the cloud^H6051 abode^H7931^(H8799) upon the tabernacle^H4908 they rested^H2583^(H8799) in their tents.

¹⁹ When the cloud stayed on the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept Yahweh’s command, and didn’t travel.

KJVAnd when the cloud^H6051 tarried long^H748^(H8687) upon the tabernacle^H4908 many^H7227 days^H3117, then the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 kept^H8104^(H8804) the charge^H4931 of the LORD^H3068, and journeyed^H5265^(H8799) not.

²⁰ Sometimes the cloud was a few days on the tabernacle; then according to the commandment of Yahweh they remained encamped, and according to the commandment of Yahweh they traveled.

KJVAnd so it was^H3426, when the cloud^H6051 was a few^H4557 days^H3117 upon the tabernacle^H4908; according to the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 they abode^H2583^(H8799) in their tents, and according to the commandment^H6310 of the LORD^H3068 they journeyed^H5265^(H8799).

²¹ Sometimes the cloud was from evening until morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they traveled; or by day and by night, when the cloud was taken up, they traveled.

KJVAnd so it was^H3426, when the cloud^H6051 abode from even^H6153 unto the morning^H1242, and that the cloud^H6051 was taken up^H5927^(H8738) in the morning^H1242, then they journeyed^H5265^(H8804): whether it was by day^H3119 or by night^H3915 that the cloud^H6051 was taken up^H5927^(H8738), they journeyed^H5265^(H8804).

²² Whether it was two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud stayed on the tabernacle, remaining on it, the children of Israel remained encamped, and didn’t travel; but when it was taken up, they traveled.
