Romans 12
WEB·Romans 12
1Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
KJVI beseechG3870(G5719) youG5209 thereforeG3767, brethrenG80, byG1223 the merciesG3628 of GodG2316, that ye presentG3936(G5658) yourG5216 bodiesG4983 a livingG2198(G5723) sacrificeG2378, holyG40, acceptableG2101 unto GodG2316, which is yourG5216 reasonableG3050 serviceG2999.
2 Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God.
KJVAndG2532 beG4964 notG3361 conformedG4964(G5728) to thisG5129 worldG165: butG235 be ye transformedG3339(G5744) by the renewingG342 of yourG5216 mindG3563, thatG1519 yeG5209 may proveG1381(G5721) whatG5101 is that goodG18, andG2532 acceptableG2101, andG2532 perfectG5046, willG2307 of GodG2316.
3 For I say through the grace that was given me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith.
KJVForG1063 I sayG3004(G5719), throughG1223 the graceG5485 givenG1325(G5685) unto meG3427, to every manG3956 that isG5607(G5752) amongG1722 youG5213, notG3361 to think of himself moreG3844 highlyG5252(G5721) thanG3739 he oughtG1163(G5748) to thinkG5426(G5721); butG235 to thinkG5426(G5721) soberlyG1519G4993(G5721), according asG5613 GodG2316 hath dealtG3307(G5656) to every manG1538 the measureG3358 of faithG4102.
4 For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members don’t have the same function,
KJVForG1063 asG2509 we haveG2192(G5719) manyG4183 membersG3196 inG1722 oneG1520 bodyG4983, andG1161 allG3956 membersG3196 haveG2192(G5719) notG3756 the sameG846 officeG4234:
5 so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another,
KJVSoG3779 weG2070, being manyG4183, areG2070(G5748) oneG1520 bodyG4983 inG1722 ChristG5547, andG1161 everyG2596 oneG1520 membersG3196 one of anotherG240.
6 having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us: if prophecy, let’s prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
KJVHavingG2192(G5723) thenG1161 giftsG5486 differingG1313 accordingG2596 to the graceG5485 that is givenG1325(G5685) to usG2254, whetherG1535 prophecyG4394, let us prophesy accordingG2596 to the proportionG356 of faithG4102;
7 or service, let’s give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching;
KJVOrG1535 ministryG1248, let us wait onG1722 our ministeringG1248: orG1535 he that teachethG1321(G5723), onG1722 teachingG1319;
8 or he who exhorts, to his exhorting; he who gives, let him do it with generosity; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
KJVOrG1535 he that exhortethG3870(G5723), onG1722 exhortationG3874: he that givethG3330(G5723), let him do it withG1722 simplicityG572; he that rulethG4291(G5734), withG1722 diligenceG4710; he that sheweth mercyG1653(G5723), withG1722 cheerfulnessG2432.
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.
KJVLet loveG26(G5753) be without dissimulationG505. AbhorG655(G5723) that which is evilG4190; cleaveG2853(G5746) to that which is goodG18.
10 In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate to one another; in honor prefer one another,
KJVBe kindly affectionedG5387 one to anotherG1519G240 with brotherly loveG5360; in honourG5092 preferringG4285(G5740) one anotherG240;
11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord,
KJVNotG3361 slothfulG3636 in businessG4710; ferventG2204(G5723) in spiritG4151; servingG1398(G5723) the LordG2962;
12 rejoicing in hope, enduring in troubles, continuing steadfastly in prayer,
KJVRejoicingG5463(G5723) in hopeG1680; patientG5278(G5723) in tribulationG2347; continuing instantG4342(G5723) in prayerG4335;
13 contributing to the needs of the saints, and given to hospitality.
KJVDistributingG2841(G5723) to the necessityG5532 of saintsG40; givenG1377(G5723) to hospitalityG5381.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.
KJVBlessG2127(G5720) them which persecuteG1377(G5723) youG5209: blessG2127(G5720), andG2532 curseG2672(G5737) notG3361.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.
KJVRejoiceG5463(G5721) withG3326 them that do rejoiceG5463(G5723), andG2532 weepG2799(G5721) withG3326 them that weepG2799(G5723).
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.
KJVBe of the sameG846 mindG5426(G5723) one toward anotherG1519G240. MindG5426(G5723) notG3361 high thingsG5308, butG235 condescendG4879(G5734) to men of low estateG5011. BeG1096(G5737) notG3361 wiseG5429 inG3844 your own conceitsG1438.
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.
KJVRecompenseG591(G5723) to no manG3367 evilG2556 forG473 evilG2556. ProvideG4306(G5734) things honestG2570 in the sightG1799 of allG3956 menG444.
18 If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
KJVIfG1487 it be possibleG1415, as much as lieth inG1537 youG5216, live peaceablyG1514(G5723) withG3326 allG3956 menG444.
19 Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
KJVDearly belovedG27, avengeG1556(G5723) notG3361 yourselvesG1438, butG235 rather giveG1325(G5628) placeG5117 unto wrathG3709: forG1063 it is writtenG1125(G5769), VengeanceG1557 is mineG1698; IG1473 will repayG467(G5692), saithG3004(G5719) the LordG2962.
20 Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
KJVThereforeG3767 ifG1437 thineG4675 enemyG2190 hungerG3983(G5725), feedG5595(G5720) himG846; ifG1437 he thirstG1372(G5725), giveG4222 himG846 drinkG4222(G5720): forG1063 in soG5124 doingG4160(G5723) thou shalt heapG4987(G5692) coalsG440 of fireG4442 onG1909 hisG846 headG2776.
21 Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
KJVBeG3528 notG3361 overcomeG3528(G5744) ofG5259 evilG2556, butG235 overcomeG3528(G5720) evilG2556 withG1722 goodG18.
