Deuteronomy 10
WEB·Deuteronomy 10
1At that time Yahweh said to me, “Cut two stone tablets like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make an ark of wood.
KJVAt that timeH6256 the LORDH3068 saidH559(H8804) unto me, HewH6458(H8798) thee twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH68 like unto the firstH7223, and come upH5927(H8798) unto me into the mountH2022, and makeH6213(H8804) thee an arkH727 of woodH6086.
2 I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.”
KJVAnd I will writeH3789(H8799) on the tablesH3871 the wordsH1697 that were in the firstH7223 tablesH3871 which thou brakestH7665(H8765), and thou shalt putH7760(H8804) them in the arkH727.
3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two stone tablets like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand.
KJVAnd I madeH6213(H8799) an arkH727 of shittimH7848 woodH6086, and hewedH6458(H8799) twoH8147 tablesH3871 of stoneH68 like unto the firstH7223, and went upH5927(H8799) into the mountH2022, having the twoH8147 tablesH3871 in mine handH3027.
4 He wrote on the tablets, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Yahweh spoke to you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly; and Yahweh gave them to me.
KJVAnd he wroteH3789(H8799) on the tablesH3871, according to the firstH7223 writingH4385, the tenH6235 commandmentsH1697, which the LORDH3068 spakeH1696(H8765) unto you in the mountH2022 out of the midstH8432 of the fireH784 in the dayH3117 of the assemblyH6951: and the LORDH3068 gaveH5414(H8799) them unto me.
5 I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are as Yahweh commanded me.
KJVAnd I turnedH6437(H8799) myself and came downH3381(H8799) from the mountH2022, and putH7760(H8799) the tablesH3871 in the arkH727 which I had madeH6213(H8804); and there they be, as the LORDH3068 commandedH6680(H8765) me.
6 (The children of Israel traveled from Beeroth Bene Jaakan to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest’s office in his place.
KJVAnd the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 took their journeyH5265(H8804) from Beeroth of the children of JaakanH885 to MoseraH4149: there AaronH175 diedH4191(H8804), and there he was buriedH6912(H8735); and EleazarH499 his sonH1121 ministered in the priest's officeH3547(H8762) in his stead.
7 From there they traveled to Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of brooks of water.
KJVFrom thence they journeyedH5265(H8804) unto GudgodahH1412; and from GudgodahH1412 to JotbathH3193, a landH776 of riversH5158 of watersH4325.
8 At that time Yahweh set apart the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of Yahweh’s covenant, to stand before Yahweh to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day.
KJVAt that timeH6256 the LORDH3068 separatedH914(H8689) the tribeH7626 of LeviH3878, to bearH5375(H8800) the arkH727 of the covenantH1285 of the LORDH3068, to standH5975(H8800) beforeH6440 the LORDH3068 to ministerH8334(H8763) unto him, and to blessH1288(H8763) in his nameH8034, unto this dayH3117.
9 Therefore Levi has no portion nor inheritance with his brothers; Yahweh is his inheritance, according as Yahweh your God spoke to him.)
KJVWherefore LeviH3878 hath no partH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with his brethrenH251; the LORDH3068 is his inheritanceH5159, according as the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 promisedH1696(H8765) him.
10 I stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights; and Yahweh listened to me that time also. Yahweh would not destroy you.
KJVAnd I stayedH5975(H8804) in the mountH2022, according to the firstH7223 timeH3117, fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915; and the LORDH3068 hearkenedH8085(H8799) unto me at that timeH6471 also, and the LORDH3068 wouldH14(H8804) not destroyH7843(H8687) thee.
11 Yahweh said to me, “Arise, take your journey before the people; and they shall go in and possess the land which I swore to their fathers to give to them.”
KJVAnd the LORDH3068 saidH559(H8799) unto me, AriseH6965(H8798), takeH3212(H8798) thy journeyH4550 beforeH6440 the peopleH5971, that they may go inH935(H8799) and possessH3423(H8799) the landH776, which I swareH7650(H8738) unto their fathersH1 to giveH5414(H8800) unto them.
12 Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
KJVAnd now, IsraelH3478, what doth the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 requireH7592(H8802) of thee, but to fearH3372(H8800) the LORDH3068 thy GodH430, to walkH3212(H8800) in all his waysH1870, and to loveH157(H8800) him, and to serveH5647(H8800) the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 with all thy heartH3824 and with all thy soulH5315,
13 to keep Yahweh’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good?
KJVTo keepH8104(H8800) the commandmentsH4687 of the LORDH3068, and his statutesH2708, which I commandH6680(H8764) thee this dayH3117 for thy goodH2896?
14 Behold, to Yahweh your God belongs heaven, the heaven of heavens, and the earth, with all that is therein.
KJVBehold, the heavenH8064 and the heavenH8064 of heavensH8064 is the LORD'SH3068 thy GodH430, the earthH776 also, with all that therein is.
15 Only Yahweh had a delight in your fathers to love them, and he chose their offspring after them, even you above all peoples, as it is today.
KJVOnly the LORDH3068 had a delightH2836(H8804) in thy fathersH1 to loveH157(H8800) them, and he choseH977(H8799) their seedH2233 afterH310 them, even you above all peopleH5971, as it is this dayH3117.
16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiff-necked.
KJVCircumciseH4135(H8804) therefore the foreskinH6190 of your heartH3824, and be no more stiffneckedH6203H7185(H8686).
17 For Yahweh your God, he is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, the mighty, and the awesome, who doesn’t respect persons or take bribes.
KJVFor the LORDH3068 your GodH430 is GodH430 of godsH430, and LordH113 of lordsH113, a greatH1419 GodH410, a mightyH1368, and a terribleH3372(H8737), which regardethH5375(H8799) not personsH6440, nor takethH3947(H8799) rewardH7810:
18 He executes justice for the fatherless and widow and loves the foreigner in giving him food and clothing.
KJVHe doth executeH6213(H8802) the judgmentH4941 of the fatherlessH3490 and widowH490, and lovethH157(H8802) the strangerH1616, in givingH5414(H8800) him foodH3899 and raimentH8071.
19 Therefore love the foreigner, for you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
KJVLoveH157(H8804) ye therefore the strangerH1616: for ye were strangersH1616 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714.
20 You shall fear Yahweh your God. You shall serve him. You shall cling to him, and you shall swear by his name.
KJVThou shalt fearH3372(H8799) the LORDH3068 thy GodH430; him shalt thou serveH5647(H8799), and to him shalt thou cleaveH1692(H8799), and swearH7650(H8735) by his nameH8034.
21 He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done for you these great and awesome things which your eyes have seen.
KJVHe is thy praiseH8416, and he is thy GodH430, that hath doneH6213(H8804) for thee these greatH1419 and terrible thingsH3372(H8737), which thine eyesH5869 have seenH7200(H8804).
22 Your fathers went down into Egypt with seventy persons; and now Yahweh your God has made you as the stars of the sky for multitude.
KJVThy fathersH1 went downH3381(H8804) into EgyptH4714 with threescore and tenH7657 personsH5315; and now the LORDH3068 thy GodH430 hath madeH7760(H8804) thee as the starsH3556 of heavenH8064 for multitudeH7230.
