No More Delay
Revelation 10:5-7

The angel swears by the Creator that delay is ended, and the mystery of God is set to finish in the seventh trumpet's days, as the prophets were told.
The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to the sky and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there will no longer be delay.
The scene is Daniel's, deliberately restaged. Daniel's river-vision ended with a man clothed in linen raising both hands to heaven and swearing by him who lives forever that the scattering of the holy people's power would run a time, times, and a half Daniel 12:7 — the great prophetic period, the long delay measured. This angel raises his hand in the same oath-posture, swears by the same ever-living One — named here at full length as Creator of heaven, earth, and sea Revelation 14:7 — and swears the counterpart sentence: there will no longer be delay. The period Daniel measured has run out; the time-prophecy's clock has struck; what remains is not another span but a finishing.
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as he declared to his servants the prophets Revelation 10:7.
Every term is weight-bearing. The mystery of God — in Scripture's usage not a puzzle but a purpose long hidden and now disclosed Romans 14:24: the whole plan of redemption, the gospel's full design for mankind and history. Is finished — the same finishing verb the bowls will echo Revelation 16:17 and the city will complete Revelation 21:6. In the days of the voice of the seventh angel — a span of days, not an instant: the seventh trumpet opens an era in which the long purpose closes. And as he declared to his servants the prophets — the standard formula of prophetic continuity Amos 3:7: nothing in the finishing will be novel; it is the declared program of all the prophets arriving at execution.
The oath, standing where it stands, is the book's pivot of time. The trumpet-series has traversed the long era of warning; Daniel's sealed span is sworn to be complete; the reader stands, from this verse forward, in the days of the end — the stretch the rest of the book maps in detail: the final proclamation Revelation 14:6, the last conflict Revelation 13:15–17, the finished wrath Revelation 15:1, the kingdom Revelation 11:15. Heaven has gone on record, under oath, by the Creator's own life: the delay is over.
