A Millstone into the Sea
Revelation 18:20-24

Heaven is summoned to rejoice, the millstone enacts a fall with no recovery, six sounds go silent forever — and the last line finds all the earth's blood in her.
Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets, for God has judged your judgment on her.
Against the shoreline's three lamentations, one summons to joy — and its addressees are the injured: saints, apostles, prophets, the very classes Babylon killed Revelation 18:24. The legal phrase is exact: God has judged your judgment on her — the case the martyrs filed Revelation 6:10 has been heard, and the verdict executed is theirs: their vindication, their blood answered Revelation 19:2. Jeremiah's Babylon-oracle ends with the same summons — then the heavens and the earth... will sing for joy over Babylon Jeremiah 51:48.
A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all" Revelation 18:21.
The prophetic act is Jeremiah's own, performed at scale: Seraiah was to read Babylon's doom-scroll in Babylon, tie a stone to it, and sink it in the Euphrates — thus will Babylon sink, and will not rise again Jeremiah 51:63–64. A millstone does not float, and nothing dives after it: the fall is total, violent, and irreversible — found no more at all.
Then the silences, six of them, tolled one by one Revelation 18:22–23: harpists and minstrels and flute players and trumpeters — no more at all; every craftsman of every craft — no more at all; the sound of the mill; the light of a lamp; the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride — the elegy borrowed from Jeremiah's sentence on Jerusalem Jeremiah 25:10, every ordinary sweetness of a living city — music, work, bread, light, and weddings — extinguished in the city that commodified them all Revelation 18:13. The bridegroom's voice silenced here is heard in heaven in the next chapter Revelation 19:7: the wedding Babylon lost forever is the one the Lamb keeps.
And the charge-sheet closes with two counts. For with your sorcery all the nations were deceived Revelation 18:23 — her commerce and cult as enchantment Revelation 18:3, the deception that was always the dragon's one industry Revelation 12:9. And the last line of the funeral, the widest sentence in the book's whole case against her: in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth Revelation 18:24.
All who have been slain — the system of organized rebellion, traced to its root, holds the blood of every victim since Abel Genesis 4:10 Matthew 23:35: Babylon is not one villain among many but the mystery of violence itself in civic form Revelation 17:5, and her fall is the answer to every unavenged grave on earth.
