"In Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him." — Colossians 2:9, 10 · KJV

All the attributes of Christ, as God and as man, are at our disposal. All the fullness of the Godhead, whatever that marvelous phrase may include, is ours to make us complete. He cannot hand over to us the attributes of Deity, but He has done everything that could be done, for He has made even His divine power and Godhead serve our salvation. His omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, unchangeableness, and infallibility are all combined for our defense. Rise up, believer, and see the Lord Jesus harnessing the whole of His divine glory to the chariot of salvation! How vast His grace, how firm His faithfulness, how unswerving His constancy, how infinite His power, how limitless His knowledge! The Lord Jesus has made all of these the pillars of the temple of salvation, and all of them, without the least reduction of their infinity, are pledged to us as our permanent inheritance. The unfathomable love of the Savior's heart is ours, every drop of it; every sinew in the arm of might, every jewel in the crown of majesty, the immensity of divine knowledge, the strictness of divine justice, all are ours and will be employed on our behalf. The whole of Christ, in His adorable character as the Son of God, has been handed over by Himself for us to enjoy most richly. His wisdom is our direction, His knowledge our instruction, His power our protection, His justice our guarantee, His love our comfort, His mercy our relief, and His unchanging nature our trust. He keeps nothing back, but opens the inner chambers of the Mount of God and tells us to dig in its mines for the hidden treasures. "All, all, all are yours," He says; be satisfied with favor and full of the goodness of the Lord. How sweet it is to look at Jesus like this, and to call on Him with settled confidence that when we seek the help of His love or power, we are only asking for what He has already faithfully promised.
