"Whom He justified, them He also glorified." — Romans 8:30 · KJV

Here is a precious truth for you, believer. You may be poor, or suffering, or unknown, but for your encouragement look back over your calling and the consequences that flow from it, and especially the blessed outcome named here. As surely as you are God's child today, so surely will all your trials soon be over, and you will be rich in every sense that matters for happiness. Wait a little while, and that weary head will wear the crown of glory, and that hard-working hand will grasp the palm branch of victory. Do not grieve over your troubles; rejoice instead that before long you will be where "there shall be neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain." The chariots of fire are at your door, and a moment will be enough to carry you to the glorified. The everlasting song is nearly on your lips. The gates of heaven stand open for you. Do not imagine you might fail to enter that rest. If He has called you, nothing can separate you from His love. Distress cannot sever the bond; the fire of persecution cannot burn through the link; no hammer can break the chain. You are secure. The same voice that called you at the first will call you again from earth to heaven, from the dark gloom of death to the unspeakable splendor of immortality. Rest assured, the heart of the One who has justified you beats with infinite love toward you. Soon you will be with the glorified, where your true portion lies; you are only waiting here to be made fit for the inheritance, and once that is done, angels' wings will carry you far away to the mountain of peace and joy and blessedness, where, far from a world of grief and sin and shut in with God forever, you will rest for ever and ever.
