"And the glory which Thou gavest me I have given them." — John 17:22 · KJV

Look at the extraordinary generosity of the Lord Jesus, for He has given us everything He has. A tenth of His riches would have made a universe of angels wealthy beyond imagining, yet He was not satisfied until He had given us all that was His. It would have been astonishing grace if He had merely let us gather the crumbs of His goodness from under the table of His mercy, but He does nothing by halves; He seats us beside Him and shares the whole feast. Had He granted us some small allowance out of His royal treasury, we would have had reason to love Him forever. Instead He will have His bride as rich as Himself, and there is no glory and no grace of His that she will not share. Nothing less would content Him than making us joint heirs with Himself, so that our possessions are equal to His. He has poured out His entire estate into the treasury of the Church and holds all things in common with those He has redeemed. There is not one room in His house whose key He will keep back from His people. He gives them full liberty to claim all He has as their own; He loves for them to help themselves to His treasure and carry away as much as they possibly can. The boundless fullness of His all-sufficiency is as freely theirs as the air they breathe. Christ has held the cup of His love and grace to the believer's lip and told him to drink on forever; if he could drain it he would be welcome to, and since he cannot possibly empty it, he is told to drink deeply, for the whole of it is his own. What truer proof of fellowship could heaven or earth offer? When I stand before the throne dressed in beauty not my own, when I see You as You are and love You with a sinless heart, then, Lord, and not before, I will fully know how much I owe.
