Isaiah 39
WEB·Isaiah 39
1At that time, Merodach-baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick, and had recovered.
KJVAt that timeH6256 MerodachbaladanH4757, the sonH1121 of BaladanH1081, kingH4428 of BabylonH894, sentH7971(H8804) lettersH5612 and a presentH4503 to HezekiahH2396: for he had heardH8085(H8799) that he had been sickH2470(H8804), and was recoveredH2388(H8799).
2 Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.
KJVAnd HezekiahH2396 was gladH8055(H8799) of them, and shewedH7200(H8686) them the houseH1004 of his precious thingsH5238, the silverH3701, and the goldH2091, and the spicesH1314, and the preciousH2896 ointmentH8081, and all the houseH1004 of his armourH3627, and all that was foundH4672(H8738) in his treasuresH214: there was nothingH1697 in his houseH1004, nor in all his dominionH4475, that HezekiahH2396 shewedH7200(H8689) them not.
3 Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”
KJVThen cameH935(H8799) IsaiahH3470 the prophetH5030 unto kingH4428 HezekiahH2396, and saidH559(H8799) unto him, What saidH559(H8804) these menH582? and from whenceH370 cameH935(H8799) they unto thee? And HezekiahH2396 saidH559(H8799), They are comeH935(H8804) from a farH7350 countryH776 unto me, even from BabylonH894.
4 Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”
KJVThen saidH559(H8799) he, What have they seenH7200(H8804) in thine houseH1004? And HezekiahH2396 answeredH559(H8799), All that is in mine houseH1004 have they seenH7200(H8804): there is nothingH1697 among my treasuresH214 that I have not shewedH7200(H8689) them.
5 Then Isaiah said to Hezekiah, “Hear the word of Yahweh of Armies:
KJVThen saidH559(H8799) IsaiahH3470 to HezekiahH2396, HearH8085(H8798) the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 of hostsH6635:
6 ‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.
KJVBehold, the daysH3117 comeH935(H8802), that all that is in thine houseH1004, and that which thy fathersH1 have laid up in storeH686(H8804) until this dayH3117, shall be carriedH5375(H8738) to BabylonH894: nothingH1697 shall be leftH3498(H8735), saithH559(H8804) the LORDH3068.
7 ‘They will take away your sons who will issue from you, whom you shall father, and they will be eunuchs in the king of Babylon’s palace.’”
KJVAnd of thy sonsH1121 that shall issueH3318(H8799) from thee, which thou shalt begetH3205(H8686), shall they take awayH3947(H8799); and they shall be eunuchsH5631 in the palaceH1964 of the kingH4428 of BabylonH894.
8 Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “Yahweh’s word which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “For there will be peace and truth in my days.”
KJVThen saidH559(H8799) HezekiahH2396 to IsaiahH3470, GoodH2896 is the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068 which thou hast spokenH1696(H8765). He saidH559(H8799) moreover, For there shall be peaceH7965 and truthH571 in my daysH3117.
