¹In the eleventh year, in the first of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

KJVAnd it came to pass in the eleventh^H6249^H6240 year^H8141, in the first^H259 day of the month^H2320, that the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 came unto me, saying^H559^(H8800),

² “Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, ‘Aha! She is broken! She who was the gateway of the peoples has been returned to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste;’

KJVSon^H1121 of man^H120, because that Tyrus^H6865 hath said^H559^(H8804) against Jerusalem^H3389, Aha^H1889, she is broken^H7665^(H8738) that was the gates^H1817 of the people^H5971: she is turned^H5437^(H8738) unto me: I shall be replenished^H4390^(H8735), now she is laid waste^H2717^(H8717):

³ therefore the Lord Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up.

KJVTherefore thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus^H6865, and will cause many^H7227 nations^H1471 to come up^H5927^(H8689) against thee, as the sea^H3220 causeth his waves^H1530 to come up^H5927^(H8687).

⁴ They will destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers. I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock.

KJVAnd they shall destroy^H7843^(H8765) the walls^H2346 of Tyrus^H6865, and break down^H2040^(H8804) her towers^H4026: I will also scrape^H5500^(H8765) her dust^H6083 from her, and make^H5414^(H8804) her like the top^H6706 of a rock^H5553.

⁵ She will be a place for the spreading of nets in the middle of the sea; for I have spoken it,’ says the Lord Yahweh. ‘She will become plunder for the nations.

⁶ Her daughters who are in the field will be slain with the sword. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’

KJVAnd her daughters^H1323 which are in the field^H7704 shall be slain^H2026^(H8735) by the sword^H2719; and they shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068.

⁷ “For the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will bring on Tyre Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, with chariots, with horsemen, and an army with many people.

KJVFor thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Behold, I will bring^H935^(H8688) upon Tyrus^H6865 Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 king^H4428 of Babylon^H894, a king^H4428 of kings^H4428, from the north^H6828, with horses^H5483, and with chariots^H7393, and with horsemen^H6571, and companies^H6951, and much^H7227 people^H5971.

⁸ He will kill your daughters in the field with the sword. He will make forts against you, cast up a mound against you, and raise up the buckler against you.

KJVHe shall slay^H2026^(H8799) with the sword^H2719 thy daughters^H1323 in the field^H7704: and he shall make^H5414^(H8804) a fort^H1785 against thee, and cast^H8210^(H8804) a mount^H5550 against thee, and lift up^H6965^(H8689) the buckler^H6793 against thee.

⁹ He will set his battering engines against your walls, and with his axes he will break down your towers.

KJVAnd he shall set^H5414^(H8799) engines^H4239 of war^H6904 against thy walls^H2346, and with his axes^H2719 he shall break down^H5422^(H8799) thy towers^H4026.

¹⁰ By reason of the abundance of his horses, their dust will cover you. Your walls will shake at the noise of the horsemen, of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he enters into your gates, as men enter into a city which is broken open.

¹¹ He will tread down all your streets with the hoofs of his horses. He will kill your people with the sword. The pillars of your strength will go down to the ground.

KJVWith the hoofs^H6541 of his horses^H5483 shall he tread down^H7429^(H8799) all thy streets^H2351: he shall slay^H2026^(H8799) thy people^H5971 by the sword^H2719, and thy strong^H5797 garrisons^H4676 shall go down^H3381^(H8799) to the ground^H776.

¹² They will make a plunder of your riches and make a prey of your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. They will lay your stones, your timber, and your dust in the middle of the waters.

KJVAnd they shall make a spoil^H7997^(H8804) of thy riches^H2428, and make a prey^H962^(H8804) of thy merchandise^H7404: and they shall break down^H2040^(H8804) thy walls^H2346, and destroy^H5422^(H8799) thy pleasant^H2532 houses^H1004: and they shall lay^H7760^(H8799) thy stones^H68 and thy timber^H6086 and thy dust^H6083 in the midst^H8432 of the water^H4325.

¹³ I will cause the noise of your songs to cease. The sound of your harps won’t be heard any more.

KJVAnd I will cause the noise^H1995 of thy songs^H7892 to cease^H7673^(H8689); and the sound^H6963 of thy harps^H3658 shall be no more heard^H8085^(H8735).

¹⁴ I will make you a bare rock. You will be a place for the spreading of nets. You will be built no more; for I Yahweh have spoken it,’ says the Lord Yahweh.

KJVAnd I will make^H5414^(H8804) thee like the top^H6706 of a rock^H5553: thou shalt be a place to spread^H4894 nets^H2764 upon^H4894; thou shalt be built^H1129^(H8735) no more: for I the LORD^H3068 have spoken^H1696^(H8765) it, saith^H5002^(H8803) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069.

¹⁵ “The Lord Yahweh says to Tyre: ‘Won’t the islands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made within you?

KJVThus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069 to Tyrus^H6865; Shall not the isles^H339 shake^H7493^(H8799) at the sound^H6963 of thy fall^H4658, when the wounded^H2491 cry^H602^(H8800), when the slaughter^H2027 is made^H2026^(H8736) in the midst^H8432 of thee?

¹⁶ Then all the princes of the sea will come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling. They will sit on the ground, and will tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.

¹⁷ They will take up a lamentation over you, and tell you, “How you are destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, who was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all who lived there!”

KJVAnd they shall take up^H5375^(H8804) a lamentation^H7015 for thee, and say^H559^(H8804) to thee, How art thou destroyed^H6^(H8804), that wast inhabited^H3427^(H8737) of seafaring men^H3220, the renowned^H1984^(H8794) city^H5892, which wast strong^H2389 in the sea^H3220, she and her inhabitants^H3427^(H8802), which cause^H5414^(H8804) their terror^H2851 to be on all that haunt^H3427^(H8802) it!

¹⁸ Now the islands will tremble in the day of your fall. Yes, the islands that are in the sea will be dismayed at your departure.’

KJVNow shall the isles^H339 tremble^H2729^(H8799) in the day^H3117 of thy fall^H4658; yea, the isles^H339 that are in the sea^H3220 shall be troubled^H926^(H8738) at thy departure^H3318^(H8800).

¹⁹ “For the Lord Yahweh says: ‘When I make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep on you, and the great waters cover you,

KJVFor thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; When I shall make^H5414^(H8800) thee a desolate^H2717^(H8737) city^H5892, like the cities^H5892 that are not inhabited^H3427^(H8738); when I shall bring up^H5927^(H8687) the deep^H8415 upon thee, and great^H7227 waters^H4325 shall cover^H3680^(H8765) thee;

²⁰ then I will bring you down with those who descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make you dwell in the lower parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living.

KJVWhen I shall bring thee down^H3381^(H8689) with them that descend^H3381^(H8802) into the pit^H953, with the people^H5971 of old time^H5769, and shall set^H3427^(H8689) thee in the low parts^H8482 of the earth^H776, in places desolate^H2723 of old^H5769, with them that go down^H3381^(H8802) to the pit^H953, that thou be not inhabited^H3427^(H8799); and I shall set^H5414^(H8804) glory^H6643 in the land^H776 of the living^H2416;

²¹ I will make you a terror, and you will no more have any being. Though you are sought for, yet you will never be found again,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”

KJVI will make^H5414^(H8799) thee a terror^H1091, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for^H1245^(H8792), yet shalt thou never^H5769 be found^H4672^(H8735) again, saith^H5002^(H8803) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069.

¹Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

² “Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them.

KJVSon^H1121 of man^H120, set^H7760^(H8798) thy face^H6440 against the Ammonites^H1121^H5983, and prophesy^H5012^(H8734) against them;

³ Tell the children of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says, “Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity,

KJVAnd say^H559^(H8804) unto the Ammonites^H1121^H5983, Hear^H8085^(H8798) the word^H1697 of the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Because thou saidst^H559^(H8800), Aha^H1889, against my sanctuary^H4720, when it was profaned^H2490^(H8738); and against the land^H127 of Israel^H3478, when it was desolate^H8074^(H8738); and against the house^H1004 of Judah^H3063, when they went^H1980^(H8804) into captivity^H1473;

⁴ therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession. They will set their encampments in you and make their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk.

KJVBehold, therefore I will deliver^H5414^(H8802) thee to the men^H1121 of the east^H6924 for a possession^H4181, and they shall set^H3427^(H8765) their palaces^H2918 in thee, and make^H5414^(H8804) their dwellings^H4908 in thee: they shall eat^H398^(H8799) thy fruit^H6529, and they shall drink^H8354^(H8799) thy milk^H2461.

⁵ I will make Rabbah a stable for camels and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”

KJVAnd I will make^H5414^(H8804) Rabbah^H7237 a stable^H5116 for camels^H1581, and the Ammonites^H1121^H5983 a couchingplace^H4769 for flocks^H6629: and ye shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068.

⁶ For the Lord Yahweh says: “Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel,

KJVFor thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Because thou hast clapped^H4222^(H8763) thine hands^H3027, and stamped^H7554^(H8800) with the feet^H7272, and rejoiced^H8055^(H8799) in heart^H5315 with all thy despite^H7589 against the land^H127 of Israel^H3478;

⁷ therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”

⁸ “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,’

KJVThus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Because^H3282 that Moab^H4124 and Seir^H8165 do say^H559^(H8800), Behold, the house^H1004 of Judah^H3063 is like unto all the heathen^H1471;

⁹ therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on its frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim,

KJVTherefore, behold, I will open^H6605^(H8802) the side^H3802 of Moab^H4124 from the cities^H5892, from his cities^H5892 which are on his frontiers^H7097, the glory^H6643 of the country^H776, Bethjeshimoth^H1020, Baalmeon^H1186, and Kiriathaim^H7156,

¹⁰ to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.

¹¹ I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

¹² “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and taken revenge on them,”

KJVThus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Because that Edom^H123 hath dealt^H6213^(H8800) against the house^H1004 of Judah^H3063 by taking^H5358^(H8800) vengeance^H5359, and hath greatly^H816^(H8800) offended^H816^(H8799), and revenged^H5358^(H8738) himself upon them;

¹³ therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan.

KJVTherefore thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; I will also stretch out^H5186^(H8804) mine hand^H3027 upon Edom^H123, and will cut off^H3772^(H8689) man^H120 and beast^H929 from it; and I will make^H5414^(H8804) it desolate^H2723 from Teman^H8487; and they of Dedan^H1719 shall fall^H5307^(H8799) by the sword^H2719.

¹⁴ I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance,” says the Lord Yahweh.

KJVAnd I will lay^H5414^(H8804) my vengeance^H5360 upon Edom^H123 by the hand^H3027 of my people^H5971 Israel^H3478: and they shall do^H6213^(H8804) in Edom^H123 according to mine anger^H639 and according to my fury^H2534; and they shall know^H3045^(H8804) my vengeance^H5360, saith^H5002^(H8803) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069.

¹⁵ “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Because the Philistines have taken revenge, and have taken vengeance with contempt of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility,”

KJVThus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Because the Philistines^H6430 have dealt^H6213^(H8800) by revenge^H5360, and have taken^H5358^(H8735) vengeance^H5359 with a despiteful^H7589 heart^H5315, to destroy^H4889 it for the old^H5769 hatred^H342;

¹⁶ therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.

KJVTherefore thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Behold, I will stretch out^H5186^(H8802) mine hand^H3027 upon the Philistines^H6430, and I will cut off^H3772^(H8689) the Cherethims^H3774, and destroy^H6^(H8689) the remnant^H7611 of the sea^H3220 coast^H2348.

¹⁷ I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am Yahweh, when I lay my vengeance on them.”’”
