¹Yahweh’s word came again to me, saying,

² “Son of man, prophesy, and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Wail, ‘Alas for the day!’

KJVSon^H1121 of man^H120, prophesy^H5012^(H8734) and say^H559^(H8804), Thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Howl^H3213^(H8685) ye, Woe worth^H1929 the day^H3117!

³ For the day is near, even Yahweh’s day is near. It will be a day of clouds, a time of the nations.

KJVFor the day^H3117 is near^H7138, even the day^H3117 of the LORD^H3068 is near^H7138, a cloudy^H6051 day^H3117; it shall be the time^H6256 of the heathen^H1471.

⁴ A sword will come on Egypt, and anguish will be in Ethiopia, when the slain fall in Egypt. They take away her multitude, and her foundations are broken down.

KJVAnd the sword^H2719 shall come^H935^(H8804) upon Egypt^H4714, and great pain^H2479 shall be in Ethiopia^H3568, when the slain^H2491 shall fall^H5307^(H8800) in Egypt^H4714, and they shall take away^H3947^(H8804) her multitude^H1995, and her foundations^H3247 shall be broken down^H2040^(H8738).

⁵ “‘“Ethiopia, Put, Lud, all the mixed people, Cub, and the children of the land that is allied with them, will fall with them by the sword.”

KJVEthiopia^H3568, and Libya^H6316, and Lydia^H3865, and all the mingled^H6153 people, and Chub^H3552, and the men^H1121 of the land^H776 that is in league^H1285, shall fall^H5307^(H8799) with them by the sword^H2719.

⁶ “‘Yahweh says: “They also who uphold Egypt will fall. The pride of her power will come down. They will fall by the sword in it from the tower of Seveneh,” says the Lord Yahweh.

⁷ “They will be desolate in the middle of the countries that are desolate. Her cities will be among the cities that are wasted.

KJVAnd they shall be desolate^H8074^(H8738) in the midst^H8432 of the countries^H776 that are desolate^H8074^(H8737), and her cities^H5892 shall be in the midst^H8432 of the cities^H5892 that are wasted^H2717^(H8737).

⁸ They will know that I am Yahweh when I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers are destroyed.

KJVAnd they shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068, when I have set^H5414^(H8800) a fire^H784 in Egypt^H4714, and when all her helpers^H5826^(H8802) shall be destroyed^H7665^(H8738).

⁹ “‘“In that day messengers will go out from before me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid. There will be anguish on them, as in the day of Egypt; for, behold, it comes.”

¹⁰ “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

KJVThus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; I will also make the multitude^H1995 of Egypt^H4714 to cease^H7673^(H8689) by the hand^H3027 of Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 king^H4428 of Babylon^H894.

¹¹ He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.

¹² I will make the rivers dry, and will sell the land into the hand of evil men. I will make the land desolate, and all that is therein, by the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.”

¹³ “‘The Lord Yahweh says: “I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis. There will be no more a prince from the land of Egypt. I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

KJVThus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; I will also destroy^H6^(H8689) the idols^H1544, and I will cause their images^H457 to cease^H7673^(H8689) out of Noph^H5297; and there shall be no more a prince^H5387 of the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714: and I will put^H5414^(H8804) a fear^H3374 in the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714.

¹⁴ I will make Pathros desolate, and will set a fire in Zoan, and will execute judgments on No.

KJVAnd I will make Pathros^H6624 desolate^H8074^(H8689), and will set^H5414^(H8804) fire^H784 in Zoan^H6814, and will execute^H6213^(H8804) judgments^H8201 in No^H4996.

¹⁵ I will pour my wrath on Sin, the stronghold of Egypt. I will cut off the multitude of No.

KJVAnd I will pour^H8210^(H8804) my fury^H2534 upon Sin^H5512, the strength^H4581 of Egypt^H4714; and I will cut off^H3772^(H8689) the multitude^H1995 of No^H4996.

¹⁶ I will set a fire in Egypt Sin will be in great anguish. No will be broken up. Memphis will have adversaries in the daytime.

KJVAnd I will set^H5414^(H8804) fire^H784 in Egypt^H4714: Sin^H5512 shall have great^H2342^(H8800) pain^H2342^(H8799), and No^H4996 shall be rent asunder^H1234^(H8736), and Noph^H5297 shall have distresses^H6862 daily^H3119.

¹⁷ The young men of Aven and of Pibeseth will fall by the sword. They will go into captivity.

KJVThe young men^H970 of Aven^H206 and of Pibeseth^H6364 shall fall^H5307^(H8799) by the sword^H2719: and these cities shall go^H3212^(H8799) into captivity^H7628.

¹⁸ At Tehaphnehes also the day will withdraw itself, when I break the yokes of Egypt there. The pride of her power will cease in her. As for her, a cloud will cover her, and her daughters will go into captivity.

¹⁹ Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”’”

²⁰ In the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

KJVAnd it came to pass in the eleventh^H259^H6240 year^H8141, in the first^H7223 month, in the seventh^H7651 day of the month^H2320, that the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 came unto me, saying^H559^(H8800),

²¹ “Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Behold, it has not been bound up, to apply medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it may become strong to hold the sword.

²² Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his arms, the strong arm, and that which was broken. I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

²³ I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

KJVAnd I will scatter^H6327^(H8689) the Egyptians^H4714 among the nations^H1471, and will disperse^H2219^(H8765) them through the countries^H776.

²⁴ I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand; but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before the king of Babylon with the groaning of a mortally wounded man.

²⁵ I will hold up the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall down. Then they will know that I am Yahweh when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he stretches it out on the land of Egypt.

²⁶ I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them through the countries. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’”

¹In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

² “Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.

³ Speak and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lies in the middle of his rivers, that has said, ‘My river is my own, and I have made it for myself.’

⁴ I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will make the fish of your rivers stick to your scales. I will bring you up out of the middle of your rivers, with all the fish of your rivers which stick to your scales.

⁵ I’ll cast you out into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers. You’ll fall on the open field. You won’t be brought together or gathered. I have given you for food to the animals of the earth and to the birds of the sky.

⁶ “‘“All the inhabitants of Egypt will know that I am Yahweh, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

⁷ When they took hold of you by your hand, you broke and tore all their shoulders. When they leaned on you, you broke and paralyzed all of their thighs.”

⁸ “‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Behold, I will bring a sword on you, and will cut off man and animal from you.

⁹ The land of Egypt will be a desolation and a waste. Then they will know that I am Yahweh. “‘“Because he has said, ‘The river is mine, and I have made it,’

KJVAnd the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714 shall be desolate^H8077 and waste^H2723; and they shall know^H3045^(H8804) that I am the LORD^H3068: because he hath said^H559^(H8804), The river^H2975 is mine, and I have made^H6213^(H8804) it.

¹⁰ therefore, behold, I am against you and against your rivers. I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even to the border of Ethiopia.

KJVBehold, therefore I am against thee, and against thy rivers^H2975, and I will make^H5414^(H8804) the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714 utterly^H2721 waste^H2723 and desolate^H8077, from the tower^H4024 of Syene^H5482 even unto the border^H1366 of Ethiopia^H3568.

¹¹ No foot of man will pass through it, nor will any animal foot pass through it. It won’t be inhabited for forty years.

¹² I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the middle of the countries that are desolate. Her cities among the cities that are laid waste will be a desolation forty years. I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.”

¹³ “‘For the Lord Yahweh says: “At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the peoples where they were scattered.

KJVYet thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; At the end^H7093 of forty^H705 years^H8141 will I gather^H6908^(H8762) the Egyptians^H4714 from the people^H5971 whither they were scattered^H6327^(H8738):

¹⁴ I will reverse the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth. There they will be a lowly kingdom.

KJVAnd I will bring again^H7725^(H8804) the captivity^H7622 of Egypt^H4714, and will cause them to return^H7725^(H8689) into the land^H776 of Pathros^H6624, into the land^H776 of their habitation^H4351; and they shall be there a base^H8217 kingdom^H4467.

¹⁵ It will be the lowest of the kingdoms. It won’t lift itself up above the nations any more. I will diminish them so that they will no longer rule over the nations.

KJVIt shall be the basest^H8217 of the kingdoms^H4467; neither shall it exalt^H5375^(H8691) itself any more above the nations^H1471: for I will diminish^H4591^(H8689) them, that they shall no more rule^H7287^(H8800) over the nations^H1471.

¹⁶ It will no longer be the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to memory, when they turn to look after them. Then they will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.”’”

¹⁷ It came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

KJVAnd it came to pass in the seven^H7651 and twentieth^H6242 year^H8141, in the first^H7223 month, in the first^H259 day of the month^H2320, the word^H1697 of the LORD^H3068 came unto me, saying^H559^(H8800),

¹⁸ “Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet he had no wages, nor did his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it.

¹⁹ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. He will carry off her multitude, take her plunder, and take her prey. That will be the wages for his army.

KJVTherefore thus saith^H559^(H8804) the Lord^H136 GOD^H3069; Behold, I will give^H5414^(H8802) the land^H776 of Egypt^H4714 unto Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 king^H4428 of Babylon^H894; and he shall take^H5375^(H8804) her multitude^H1995, and take^H7997^(H8804) her spoil^H7998, and take^H962^(H8804) her prey^H957; and it shall be the wages^H7939 for his army^H2428.

²⁰ I have given him the land of Egypt as his payment for which he served, because they worked for me,’ says the Lord Yahweh.

²¹ “In that day I will cause a horn to sprout for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”
