WEB·Joshua 5

KJVAnd it came to pass, when all the kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567, which were on the sideH5676 of JordanH3383 westwardH3220, and all the kingsH4428 of the CanaanitesH3669, which were by the seaH3220, heardH8085(H8800) that the LORDH3068 had dried upH3001(H8689) the watersH4325 of JordanH3383 from beforeH6440 the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478, until we were passed overH5674(H8800), that their heartH3824 meltedH4549(H8735), neither was there spiritH7307 in them any more, becauseH6440 of the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478.
2 At that time, Yahweh said to Joshua, “Make flint knives, and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time.”
KJVAt that timeH6256 the LORDH3068 saidH559(H8804) unto JoshuaH3091, MakeH6213(H8798) thee sharpH6697 knivesH2719, and circumciseH4135(H8798) againH7725(H8798) the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 the second timeH8145.

4 This is the reason Joshua circumcised them: all the people who came out of Egypt, who were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness along the way, after they came out of Egypt.
KJVAnd this is the causeH1697 why JoshuaH3091 did circumciseH4135(H8804): All the peopleH5971 that came outH3318(H8802) of EgyptH4714, that were malesH2145, even all the menH582 of warH4421, diedH4191(H8804) in the wildernessH4057 by the wayH1870, after they came outH3318(H8800) of EgyptH4714.

KJVNowH3588 all the peopleH5971 that came outH3318(H8802) were circumcisedH4135(H8803): but all the peopleH5971 that were bornH3209 in the wildernessH4057 by the wayH1870 as they came forthH3318(H8800) out of EgyptH4714, them they had not circumcisedH4135(H8804).
6 For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness until all the nation, even the men of war who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they didn’t listen to Yahweh’s voice. Yahweh swore to them that he wouldn’t let them see the land which Yahweh swore to their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
KJVFor the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 walkedH1980(H8804) fortyH705 yearsH8141 in the wildernessH4057, till all the peopleH1471 that were menH582 of warH4421, which came outH3318(H8802) of EgyptH4714, were consumedH8552(H8800), because they obeyedH8085(H8804) not the voiceH6963 of the LORDH3068: unto whom the LORDH3068 swareH7650(H8738) that he would not shewH7200(H8687) them the landH776, which the LORDH3068 swareH7650(H8738) unto their fathersH1 that he would giveH5414(H8800) us, a landH776 that flowethH2100(H8802) with milkH2461 and honeyH1706.

14 He said, “No; but I have come now as commander of Yahweh’s army.” Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and worshiped, and asked him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”
KJVAnd he saidH559(H8799), Nay; but as captainH8269 of the hostH6635 of the LORDH3068 am I now comeH935(H8804). And JoshuaH3091 fellH5307(H8799) on his faceH6440 to the earthH776, and did worshipH7812(H8691), and saidH559(H8799) unto him, What saithH1696(H8764) my lordH113 unto his servantH5650?
